The following article explains what the Tea Party is now doing in Washington. The Tea Party members were not sent there to destroy the government but to put our elected servants and their staff back in their place. They were not elected to rule us but to govern for us and what we want for this country. We want to get rid of all of the Progressive's agenda and to dust off the Constitution and put this country back on the proper path. Sen. Paul says tea party holds power on Hill

To those who predicted that the tea party movement would get swallowed up by Washington, Sen. Rand Paul says the cynics have got it completely backward — it's the tea party that has co-opted Capitol Hill.

The Kentucky Republican said in an interview that President Obama and most lawmakers have lined up behind the tea party's drive to end earmarks, while House and Senate Republicans are pushing bills to cut spending and repeal the president's health care overhaul — two more of the movement's top priorities.

Mr. Paul is a leading member of one of the most closely watched new class of lawmakers to hit Capitol Hill in a long time — tea party activists and political newcomers whose energy helped usher in a GOP majority in the House and an expanded Republican minority in the Senate.

"People asked whether we would be co-opted by Washington, I think we are co-opting Washington," Mr. Paul told The Washington Times, just hours after he and two colleagues held the first meeting of the Senate's Tea Party Caucus, which they said would serve as the liaison between the grass-roots movement and the people it helped propel to power.

"The president of the United States has been co-opted by the tea party,"Mr. Paul told the more than 200 people in attendance. He noted that in his State of the Union address Mr. Obama vowed to veto bills that include earmarks and to undo part of the health care law that imposes burdensome tax filing requirements on businesses.

Mr. Paul, whose crushing defeat of an establishment Republican in the primary and his victory in the general election epitomized the tea party's rising influence last year, said he supports the new House practice of requiring lawmakers to cite constitutional authority for each bill they offer. He has also introduced a 12-page bill that he said will cut $500 billion in federal spending immediately.

Dwarfing the other cost-cutting proposals on the table, Mr. Paul's plan would gut the Education and Energy departments and impose across-the-board spending cuts, including in the Pentagon's budget. He dismissed criticism that his plan is too radical.

"Most of official Washington thinks that is way too dramatic, but, guess what — it's not enough," Mr. Paul said. He argued that Mr. Obama's plan to freeze some domestic spending over the next five years "falls completely flat" because it affects only about 12 percent of the budget and does not begin to roll back the dramatic spending increases of the last two years.

Speaking at the Tea Party Caucus kickoff, fellow founding member Sen. Jim DeMint, South Carolina Republican, applauded Mr. Paul's proposal, telling the crowd that when the Kentuckian rolled out the plan many people wanted to brush it aside because it came from a "far right-winger."

"But if I walk through this crowd, I'm hearing, 'Why aren't you cutting $1.5 trillion? That's what our deficit is," Mr. DeMint said, garnering applause and laughter from the audience.

But passing Mr. Paul's spending cuts will be an uphill battle as both parties have played a hand in increasing the size of the federal budget, while failing to find ways to pay for the additional spending.

However, tea party activists hope that will change now that the recent election has breathed new life into the anti-government, anti-spending philosophy that they say fell out of fashion under President George W. Bush and during the first two years of the Obama administration.

Thursday's town-hall-style caucus meeting was organized by Mr. Paul,Mr. DeMint and Sen. Mike Lee of Utah, and featured guest appearances from Sens. Patrick J. Toomey, the Pennsylvania Republican who has not joined the group, and Jerry Moran, the Kansas Republican who announced his intent to become part of the caucus.

The lawmakers said they hope the caucus will help the tea party as it transitions from a protest movement into a serious legislative machine that can defend the Constitution, battle government overreach and take aim at the deficits and the $14 trillion national debt.

A crucial early test for the caucus will center on whether to raise the federal government's debt ceiling. Mr. Toomey dismissed as "factually untrue" claims that a failure to immediately raise the debt ceiling would result in the federal government defaulting on its loans.

"We should take off the table the false argument that failure to immediately raise the debt ceiling results in the default on our loans," Mr. Toomey said. He has proposed a 13-line bill that says in the "event that we don't raise the debt ceiling, the Treasury is hereby instructed to make debt service the first priority."

Mr. Toomey, echoing the sentiment of caucus members, said that lawmakers should raise the nation's borrowing limit only after enacting significant spending cuts and budget reforms, including a balanced-budget amendment that many tea party supporters see as a crucial tool needed to pull the country out of the red ink.

"The opportunity in my view is to use this moment to insist we are going to change the fiscal course of this country," he said.

Tragedy on Democracy

The Tuscon shootings that occurred on January 8, 2011 was a tragedy on our Democracy. It was a horrible action by a very troubled and deranged individual, Jared Lee Loughner. The MSM's treatment of this incident is abhorring. They have gone into their Leftist rhetoric that it was the Republicans and the Tea Party's faulty.

Senator Dick Durbin misstated on CNN that this event occurred because of free speech from Conservatives on talk radio in which he suggested that the offender was influenced for his actions. WHAT? The Progressives spin miesters are hard at work as they take this incident in their desperation to maintain control of their quickly downward spinning of their Marxist agenda. He also started down the failed road of gun control.

It also is an event which shows that law enforcement should stay out of politics when people like Democrat Sheriff Clarence D. Lupkin of Tuscon Arizona supporting laws that only further promote their Leftist agenda. The Progressives have been ignoring the laws that they feel run contrary to their beliefs, such as Arizona's immigration laws. He was also seen on tv, irresponsibly giving blame for this horrible incident that occurred as the fault of talk radio.

The Left is desperate. This individual is not a Tea Party supporter nor a Conservative. He was more of a Progressive then anything else. Jared L. Loughnor was an evil and deranged man. Take a good look at this individuals reading list. I didn't see the Constitution on it but I did see the writings of the Left. This individual was more a Leftwing nutjob just by two of his favorite books being Mien Kampf and the Communist Manifesto.

I'm still continue to wait for the flying cars but all I see is an ever growing government planning for me to drive an electric golf cart. We are already over a decade into the new century and all I see is America in decline. Tea Party Christmas...

We have had a great year America. We cannot rest on our laurels and must continue to fight the Progressives and their failing policies. We have been able to stop many of their programs and were very successful in denying Senator Harry Reid D -Nevada from passing the Omnibus Bill this week.

The Omnibus Bill, which was mostly full of 'porkulous' projects that would have put us $1.1 Trillion dollars further in debt. The Tax bill did pass and will have many unwanted consequences but we should utilize it as a stepping stone to further reduce taxes. We need to get our members in Congress to push for not only it's extension but to make tax cuts permanent.

Bloody November

I haven't written anything on this blog for awhile. I have a heavy heart because we lost two more officers in different incidents. I'm afraid that we've lost control of our city and our lives seem expendable to the Progressives who run this town. We have been vilified and abandoned by those we're sworn to serve and protect. But I guess like the good sheep dogs that care over their flock we continue to do our jobs.

We lost on Monday Officer David Blake, a member of our SWAT Team. We were greiving his loss, when on Friday Officer Michael Flisk, an evidence technician, along with a retired Chicago Public Housing Police Officer Stephen Peters, were gunned down. God Bless them.

We are short 2000 Police Officers, please pray for us.

It looked like any other Chicago alley in late November. A gray sky, gray trees, asphalt, gray squirrels hopping up on black garbage cans.

There was no sign there saying that the thugs have stopped fearing the police. But you don't need a sign if you look at the numbers: five officers from the Chicago Police Department shot to death in the last six months.

Last week on Black Friday, it was Officer Michael Flisk, 46, a decorated evidence technician killed as he quietly dusted a garage for fingerprints in broad daylight.

Flisk and a burglary victim, former CHA police Officer Stephen Peters, 44, were slain in the 8100 block of South Burnham Avenue.

Peters was the proud owner of a particularly fine ride, a red Ford Mustang GT he kept in that locked garage. The speakers had been ripped out. Flisk came alone to process the scene.

"I saw Steve and he was waiting for the police and I went inside my house," a neighbor told me Tuesday morning. "And once I'm inside, I hear the shots. Pop. Pop."

He clapped his hands twice, out there in the alley in the cold.

"So I go back outside, out on the walk next to the garage, and when I get up to my fence, I look through it and see them both on the ground."

He couldn't see the shooter.

"All I see is Steve lying there. And the police officer, he's still gurgling. I run back to the house to call 911, and then, when I'm halfway back to the house, I hear two more shots. Pop! Pop!"

He clapped his hands again, and this time he left a long beat between the claps. Out there with him, I could see it:

The killer shoots each victim in the head. A short time later, he leans over them, holding that 9 mm handgun with the laser sight. He finishes each man with another shot to the head, just to make sure.

On Tuesday afternoon, at 26th and California, the 19-year-old parolee accused of murdering Flisk and Peters stood in Criminal Court before Cook County Judge Ramon Ocasio.

Timothy Herring Jr. was convicted of armed robbery as a 16-year-old, taking down a store in his own neighborhood where he was well-known. He did three years and was paroled.

Herring had a strange new haircut, short and scraggly and definitely homemade. Prosecutors said he'd lopped off his braids after the shootings in the hope of disguising his appearance.

And so he stood there before the judge, shifting from side to side. Surely he must have felt the eyes on him from behind the glass.

There in the gallery, sitting thickly in the rows, were police officers. Most were in plainclothes, in fleeces and jeans and jackets. All of them had their stars hanging on chains around their necks.

Assistant State's Atty. Jamie Santini read the charges professionally, without drama. The flat nature of Santini's voice as he detailed the crimes in a matter-of-fact manner made it worse.

"The defendant had stated to a witness months earlier that he wanted to 'hit the victim for his sounds,' meaning to rob him of his car stereo equipment," Santini said.

According to Santini, a witness said Herring walked up to Flisk and Peters and told them he knew who burglarized the prized Mustang. Peters said it didn't matter what Herring knew because Flisk had found the fingerprints.

That's when it happened.

"The defendant walked a short distance away from the victims, pulled out a gun and shot each victim once in the head," Santini said. "The witness heard the shots, and looked outside, and saw (Peters) lying in a pool of blood."

Santini said Herring walked off carting a garbage can full of stolen stereo equipment from Peters' car, then turned and noticed one of the victims was still moving.

He said Herring then returned to finish them. Later, Herring cut his hair to change his looks, stuffed the braids into a box, along with his coat and gun, and asked a friend to hide them.

Obviously, Herring isn't a criminal mastermind. Based on his past record, he's just another barbarian. But the barbarians have always been around.

What's different is that many police officers feel the barbarians are no longer afraid of the Chicago Police Department. Whether that's a fact or not, what is a fact is that the cops are the ones in the alleys.

And out in that alley on the Southeast Side, the November winds picking up, I couldn't help but think how warm it was in May when Officer Thomas Wortham IV was shot to death outside his home by thieves bent on stealing his motorcycle.

Then in July, Officer Thor Soderberg was killed in a police parking lot. Later that month, Officer Michael Bailey was gunned down on a Sunday morning, while washing his car outside his home, a month before retirement.

Last week, Officer David Blake was killed sitting in his personal car.

And on Friday, it was Michael Flisk, married and father of four. The funeral is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel, 7740 S. Western Ave.

"And for what?" the man in the alley asked me. "A double homicide for a couple of car speakers? Are you kidding me? That's messed up."

No. When the barbarians no longer fear the police, it's worse.

Benjamin Franklin said that, "they that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither safety nor liberty".

The Progressives are using the pretext of the Islamic Terrorists attacks on our nation to further clamp down with their fascist policies on our most modern mode of travel. They are assaulting our freedoms on every front that they can as they have transformed our Government into an instrument of tyranny.

They are slowly using each failed terrorist attempts that they conduct overseas in order to get a little bit of control over us. They are finding that overall American tolerance to their intrusive procedures conducted in the name of travel safety has been to compliant to their directions. These procedures have not made us any safer since they have yet to find any grandmother, nun, or three year old child carrying out a Islamic Terrorist attack or operation.

The Islamic Terrorists are extremely happy of their successful operations which have brought about their intended goals of empowering a useful ally, the Progressives, in their continued plans. They know that a divided enemy will be weaker when overall support for their destruction has been eliminated.

The Progressives unfortunately view the Islamic Terrorist as less of a threat then they are and just another tool in their plans to control our society. This has been successful in the manipulation of Americans who use this form of travel. This has not made us one level or any bit safer as the incompetent Transportation Security Agency(TSA), who are nothing but low waged hires who have little or no training. The TSA are not a well trained police force. They are becoming the Governments 'brownshirts'.

The TSA are now conducting physical searches of individual Americans for things that Islamic terrorists have done overseas. The Progressives assault on our liberties by their forcing their political correctness on us by pursuing their useless values of profiling. They have taken a horrid but infrequent use of racial profiling as the based for a really dangerous social policy that now acts as another form of governmental control.

The Islamic Terrorists have conducted all their operations overseas and the Progressives have reacted by clamping down further on our values and freedoms here. These draconian measures that the TSA is conducting on our soil are not being done overseas where the attempts were made. Why isn't the TSA performing these strict measures on foreign flights on planes coming into this country? The terrorists are using these foreign airports as staging areas for their attacks.
