The following story is about a Police Detective Rod Tauson, from East Palo Alto, who doesn't much agree with the Second Amendment. It's ok for him to carry a gun but it's not for any other citizen unless they meet his personal standards. I wonder, Rod, if the original 'Framers of the Constitution' met your standards? Perhaps Hitler or Stalin better reflect your views. They were elitists who believed in Gun Control.

East Palo Alto cop takes heat for Facebook remarks

An East Palo Alto police detective is taking heat in online forums for allegedly posting comments from his Facebook account that advocate shooting Open Carry gun advocates.

Detective Rod Tuason apparently made the remarks in response to a friend's status update, which joked that gun advocates who carry unloaded weapons in plain view as a political statement should start doing so in places such as Oakland, Richmond and East Palo Alto "and not limit themselves to hoity toity cities."

"Haha, we had one guy last week try to do it!" Tuason replied, referring to a Redwood City man who strolled into the Mi Pueblo Food Center in East Palo Alto on Jan. 27 with a gun on his hip. "He got proned out and reminded where he was at and that turds will jack him for his gun in a heartbeat!"

After several more comments in the thread, Tuason apparently joked that officers should shoot the advocates, who have made recent headlines throughout the Bay Area for sipping coffee at cafes and performing other everyday acts with visible weapons.

"Sounds like you had someone practicing their 2nd amendment rights last night!" Tuason wrote. "Should've pulled the AR out and prone them all out! And if one of them makes a furtive movement ... 2 weeks off!!!"

It's unclear when Tuason made the comments, but they attracted the attention of gun rights advocates after blogger and lawyer Kevin Thomason posted a screen grab of the thread and a link to Tuason's Facebookpage on his Web site Sunday.

"East Palo Alto, CA Detective Roderick Tuason didn't realize that actual PRO-GUN people also read Facebook," Thomason said in the post. "Amazingly, he posted the following comment about law abiding gun owners on a friend's page. Basically, he's saying 'prone them out' (on the ground), and if anyone moves, kill them."

Thomason urged his readers to contact East Palo Alto council members to complain. Reached by phone Monday, Thomason said he wanted to comment but couldn't because he works with a nonprofit foundation that wouldn't want him to speak publicly on the matter.

California Penal Code bars carrying concealed weapons without a county-issued license but says it isn't a crime to openly display a firearm in a belt holster. However, it remains illegal for the gun to be loaded in most cases.

While residents who carry unloaded, registered guns in plain view aren't breaking any laws, police have said the practice is dangerous because officers can't tell whether a gun is loaded and what an armed person's intentions are.

Tuason didn't return a phone message seeking comment Monday. But East Palo Alto police Capt. Carl Estelle said the department's professional standards division is looking into the Facebook remarks to see if they violate any rules or policies.

"We have to be careful because they're on his own personal private Web page," Estelle said. "We have to be careful not to violate his First Amendment rights."

The department hasn't taken action against Tuason, and the detective was working in uniform Monday, he said.

"In no way are his personal comments reflective of any policies or procedures here at the department, nor does he speak for the police department," Estelle said.

Meanwhile, Tuason's Facebook comments had sparked a 45-page thread on the Web site Calguns.net Monday afternoon. A user with the handle .45shooter claiming to be either Tuason or the detective's Facebook friend who posted the original status update — the identity wasn't clear from the post — apologized to site members and said he was a Second Amendment advocate himself.

"Sometimes sacastic or off color humor should be best kept in the confines of those you can confide in," the poster wrote. "I forgot the golden rule of whos watching and listenting to you! I know i ruffled alot of feathers by making that comment! But as a person i did not mean no harm to anyone. Those that know me know my form of humor after all i'm a former Marine!"

Mark Hudson, a San Mateo resident and Second Amendment supporter, said that while he isn't part of the Open Carry movement, he saw the post on Calguns and Tuason's comments offended him.

"The reason people are open carrying is because in San Mateo County they're unable to get concealed carry permits," Hudson said. "This East Palo Alto policeman basically said he would shoot you in the back — a law-abiding citizen exercising their Second Amendment rights. ... You're going to invite law enforcement into your life when you open carry. That's why I don't do it."

Moderate Republicans crash tea party

"Tea party" Republicans aren't the only candidates poised to make inroads this year - moderate Republicans are surging from Illinois to California, and in several instances proving they can best tea-party-powered conservatives at the polls.

Take the Illinois Republican Senate primary: Patrick Hughes, a developer and political newcomer, seemed to have the wind at his back as a staunch fiscal conservative and favorite of the tea party movement. His chief rival, Rep. Mark Kirk, was routinely blasted as a RINO - Republican in Name Only - for his more moderate record, which includes votes for cap-and-trade emissions legislation and the bank bailouts.

But Mr. Kirk won the Feb. 2 primary easily, capturing 56 percent of the vote against Mr. Hughes, who took 19 percent. Three other challengers split the rest of the vote.

It's possible the stars may be aligning for moderate Republicans in 2010. With the nation focused on the economy and wars in the Middle East, moderate candidates may be able to tip-toe around the hot-button social issues that can trip them up in right-leaning primaries.

"This really is a good time for moderate Republicans," said Charles Moran, national spokesman for the Log Cabin Republicans, a gay Republican group. "We need to take this opportunity right now to elect candidates like Mark Kirk who are where they need to be on fiscal responsibility and national defense, and aren't getting tripped up on social issues like they normally would be."

Other states also feature moderate Republicans running ahead of their conservative rivals. In the Colorado Senate primary contest, polls show former Lt. Gov. Jane Norton with a comfortable lead over her more conservative opponents, Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck and former state Sen. Tom Wiens.

In California's Senate primary race, conservative state Assemblyman Chuck DeVore trails both former Rep. Tom Campbell and former Hewlett-Packard chief Carly Fiorina. The gubernatorial primary, meanwhile, features moderate Meg Whitman, former CEO of eBay, running well ahead of state insurance commissioner and tax-cut advocate Steve Poizner.

Delaware Rep. Mike Castle, a longtime standard-bearer of eastern Republican moderates, is expected to coast to victory in the GOP Senate primary without serious conservative opposition.

To say that the Republican electorate is going centrist is to misread the recent poll results, say conservatives. In the Illinois primary, Mr. Hughes had little time to get out his message, given the state's short primary season. When conservatives do have the time, they're more successful.

In Florida, for example, former House Speaker Marco Rubio was seen as a long-shot candidate when he first announced he would challenge Gov. Charlie Crist for the Republican Senate nomination. Seven months later, the conservative Mr. Rubio overtook the more moderate governor in the polls, and now leads by 12 percentage points, according to a Rasmussen Reports survey released this month.

Mr. DeVore may trail his moderate rivals now, but the California primary isn't until June. No less a political eminence than columnist George Will predicted Sunday on ABC-TV's "This Week" that Mr. DeVore would come from behind to win the primary.

When moderate Republicans do well, it's often because they're running to the right. Colorado's Mr. Norton has tried to win conservative support by calling for a balanced-budget amendment, a two-thirds vote in Congress to raise taxes, and a moratorium on " earmarks."

Not everyone's buying it. Fairly or not, Mrs. Norton is viewed by some as an establishment candidate thrust into the race by national Republicans who didn't believe Mr. Buck could win. Mrs. Norton has also suffered from guilty by association in that her brother-in-law is Charlie Black, a prominent Republican consultant and close associate of Arizona moderate Republican Sen. John McCain.

"We had a candidate in Ken Buck who had raised $250,000 in the first quarter. He did not need anybody's help," said former GOP Rep. Tom Tancredo. "Jane Norton was a McCain campaign chair. Nice lady, but she's not a conservative.

State Sen. Josh Penry, a conservative, has defended Mrs. Norton's bona fides. "The notion that she's 'John McCain lite' - she disagreed with him on the bank bailout, on ANWR, on climate change. She's running on a conservative reform message," said Mr. Penry in a debate with Mr. Tancredo on KOA-AM in Denver.

Mrs. Norton has even appeared at tea party gatherings in an effort to gain support, a sign that conservatives have the winning message.

"I think conservatives see a different picture out there with all the candidates trying to wrap themselves in tea party and limited-government principles," said a senior aide to a top conservative senator. "If moderates have succeeded, it's because they've as they've come our way and embraced less spending, less debt, less government control. When everyone is trying to out-conservative each other, that's a sign of success."

Charlie Johnston, a longtime Illinois campaign consultant who served as Mr. Hughes' political director, said the candidate's loss had less to do with his message than with the party establishment's efforts to control the outcome.

"The establishment types hold all the levers in Illinois, so they were able to shut off the money," said Mr. Johnston. "Among institutional givers, the word was put out that if you supported Patrick Hughes, he'd better win.

Another problem was the state tea party movement's inability to unite behind a single candidate. Although Mr. Hughes was viewed as the main tea party champion, other Republican primary hopefuls ended up picking up endorsements from the grass-roots movement's many local chapters.

"I think the tea party movement is the most important movement of my lifetime, but it's not sophisticated," said Mr. Johnston. "They learned a lesson here. If you can get conservatives united, if you can get them behind a Patrick Hughes, we either lose a close election or we win a close election."

A new Web site targeting the tea parties is a part of a complex network of money flowing from the mountainous coffers of the country's biggest labor unions and trickling slowly into political slush funds for Democratic activists.

A seemingly grassroots organization that's mounted an online campaign to counter the tea party movement is actually the front end of an elaborate scheme that funnels funds -- including sizable labor union contributions -- through the offices of a prominent Democratic party lawyer.

A Web site popped up in January dedicated to preventing the tea party's "radical" and "dangerous" ideas from "gaining legislative traction," targeting GOP candidates in Illinois for the firing squad.

"This movement is a fad," proclaims TheTeaPartyIsOver.org, which was established by the American Public Policy Center (APPC), a D.C.-based campaign shop that few people have ever heard of.

But a close look reveals the APPC's place in a complex network of money flowing from the mountainous coffers of the country's biggest labor unions into political slush funds for Democratic activists.

Here's how it works: What appears like a local groundswell is in fact the creation of two men -- Craig Varoga and George Rakis, Democratic Party strategists who have set up a number of so-called 527 groups, the non-profit election organizations that hammer on contentious issues (think Swift Boats, for example).

Varoga and Rakis keep a central mailing address in Washington, pulling in soft money contributions from unions and other well-padded sources to engage in what amounts to a legal laundering system. The money -- tens of millions of dollars -- gets circulated around to different states by the 527s, which pay for TV ads, Internet campaigns and lobbyist salaries, all while keeping the hands of the unions clean -- for the most part.

The system helps hide the true sources of funding, giving the appearance of locally bred opposition in states from Oklahoma to New Jersey, or in the case of the Tea Party Web site, in Illinois.

And this whitewash is entirely legal, say election law experts, who told FoxNews.com that this arrangement more or less the norm in Washington.

"It's not illegal but it is, I think, dishonest on the part of the organizations," said Paul Ryan, a legal counsel at the Campaign Legal Center. "And there's a reason they do it: they know voters don't like outsiders coming in to sway the vote."

Calls and e-mails to the Maryland-based consultant firm Independent Strategies, run by Varoga and Rakis, were not returned.

Outside of that firm, the center of their activity appears to be a single office in Southeast D.C. -- 300 M Street, Suite 1102 -- which plays host to a sprawling political shell game they have established.

Public records show at least seven political shops listed in Suite 1102, most of which are essentially clones of one another, but all of which have offered money -- from measly thousands to game-changing millions -- in state-level elections across the country:

The APPC, which developed the anti-tea party ads, has gotten all of its money for 2010 from Patriot Majority and from Citizens for Progress, which is also called Patriot Majority West.

Patriot Majority West sent them $25,000 in January, and Patriot Majority added another $5,000. The groups, both run by Varoga and Rakis, also swap hundreds of thousands of dollars between themselves, money often buttressed by gifts from Patriot Majority Midwest, seen above as the Oklahoma Freedom Fund.

The confusing naming system is intentional, say election law experts, who generally disapprove of the practice.

"I do take issue with and have long complained about groups that shield particular special interests with innocuous-sounding names like ... 'Americans for America,'" said Ryan. "That type of naming of an organization, I believe, is specifically intended to obscure the true sources of funding of special interest groups behind political activity."

These three Patriot Majority groups also send checks to Independent Strategies, the strategy firm run by Varoga and Rakis. And some of the 527s have sent money to VR Strategies, another firm run in part by and named after Varoga.

The most recent backers of the Patriot Majority and Patriot Majority West, which helped fund the APPC and thus the Tea Party site, form a veritable Who's Who of the country's top labor unions: the Service Employees International Union, Change to Win, the Communications Workers of America, the National Education Association, the Teamsters Union, the United Food & Commercial Workers Union and others besides.

But by far the largest donations have come from a collection of unionized government workers, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) -- which in 2008 alone donated $5.8 million to Patriot Majority and another $4.1 million to Patriot Majority Midwest.

Using this arrangement, Varoga and Rakis are managing what NPR called a "never-ending pot of union money" that they dispense among the 527s they run, which in turn pay for ads in hotly contested election districts.

That means that taxpayer dollars, sent up as union dues, have been going to fund a host of Democratic causes and help quash the tea party movement.

What's more, Varoga and Rakis are not actually present in Suite 1102. That is the office of their lawyer, Joseph Sandler, a longtime general counsel to the Democratic National Committee.

Sandler, whose firm and trust account raked in over $500,000 in Democratic party money in 2009 alone, told Fox News that there was nothing irregular in their setup.

"That's common practice," said Sandler, a renowned expert on election law who served as general counsel to the Democratic National Committee until February 2009, and whose firm, Sandler Reiff & Young, continues to work for both the Democratic party and numerous left-wing 527 groups.

Sandler noted that political committees and groups are often run by multiple people and don't have a central office, but need a place where they can be in ongoing contact with the IRS and other federal agencies that track election funds.

"It's very common for a law firm to give their address ... as the official address for the organization where correspondence can be received," he said.

It has the effect of confusing the ultimate sources of election funding, but also serves an important practical end, say election law experts.

"As a practical matter there's not a huge universe of lawyers in the United States that know political law all that well and most of them are here in D.C., said Ryan, of the Campaign Legal Center. "It's not uncommon for political organizations to be using lawyers in D.C. or starters, even if they're all over the country."

It is not clear whether TheTeaPartyIsOver.org is the start of a larger campaign run by Varoga and Rakis to target tea party activists. Additional attempts to reach Varoga at a California number were unsuccessful. Alabama Puts Planned Parenthood Clinic on Probation After Undercover Sting

Planned Parenthood clinic in Alabama has been put on probation by the state after an undercover sting helped reveal that underage teens had been receiving abortions there without parental consent.

State health officials said the Birmingham, Ala., abortion clinic has until next week to present its plan to correct violations involving minors receiving abortions.

Investigators with the health department said records at the clinic showed several minors aged 13-15 had received abortions without proper verification of parental consent since November 2008.

An activist with "Live Action," a California-based anti-abortion group, posed as a pregnant 14-year-old girl who needed a secret abortion. In an audio tape from the visit, an employee allegedly suggests that someone other than a parent or legal guardian could give consent.

National Tea Party Convention

Sweet Tea for Convention Attendees

If you read any of the extensive coverage of the Tea Party Convention going on this weekend in Nashville, TN, be prepared for dramatic stories of rampant grassroots infighting, questionable convention finances, and radical convention-goers flocking after polarizing demagogues.

The real story? Much different.

Attendees are wildly enthusiastic, not just about speakers, but about ideas. Those ideas are focused almost exclusively on basic conservative principles like limited government and fiscal responsibility (not the Obama birther conspiracy). And attendees are barely aware of the criticism that has been launched at the Tea Party Convention by mainstream media outlets.

"It's a good idea," said one attendee, pithily, when asked why he drove in from Ohio to participate.

Attendees are mainly being informed about the manufactured scandals through convention speakers, who have taken every opportunity to punch back — like Mark Skoda, head of the Memphis tea party group.

"We've come so far in the world of socialist values that we're now criticizing a for-profit event," he said, during a morning briefing on Friday. "We've put six hundred thousand of our dollars into the Gaylord Hotel (where the event is being hosted). We didn't ask for a tax benefit, a subsidy, or a stimulus."

That point was echoed by several convention-goers, who questioned the media's skepticism about their gathering.

"So what if the convention price is what it is?" one asked. "It just shows that tea partiers exist at all different income levels."

In fact, it seems that the only people who are disappointed in the event are the media. A woman in Southern Baptist Pastor Rick Scarborough's break-out session explained why critics were wrong.

"For those who don't know why we're here, I'll tell them. You know what we're here for? A little bit of R&R: revival and revolt," she said.

Revival and revolt was a good way to sum up the opening night speech by Rep. Tom Tancredo, who got people so riled up that they jumped out of their chairs. Tancredo didn't mince words, saying that not just Democrats, but everyone, is wrong about politics. He launched sharp barbs at Barack Obama just as quickly as he launched them at George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush, and John McCain—even thanking God that McCain didn't win the 2008 election. Tancredo brought up his literacy test—a throwback to his failed 2008 presidential campaign—and insisted that the attendees were part of a counterrevolution.

Steve Milloy, science commentator for Fox News, gave a poignant talk on global warming. He took down everything from junk science to school indoctrination, and the faces in the after-breakfast crowd revealed that his words were a welcome morning jolt. Rick Scarborough gave a religiously-focused speech about why it was important to get pastors to preach politics in addition to bible verse. Not speaking about politics from the pulpit is not just "denying history, but the reality of God's world."

"I firmly believe that the Ten Commandments were not just God's ten suggestions. There comes a time in a nation's existence where if they forsake God long enough, God will start to forsake them," he said.

Those are the sorts of statements that the leagues of journalists—who number at least one for every three conferencegoers — seize upon, and will continue to seize upon, as Fox News analyst Angela McGlowan and World Net Daily's Joseph Farah take the stage tonight, followed by tomorrow night's much-anticipated keynote by Governor Sarah Palin.

I've been following the coverage that CNN has about the Tea Party and am enjoying the contempt that they have for it. Their political indoctrination has them so entrenched in the Left that they have no understanding for what is happening. They see all these people who want the country to be brought back under the rule of the Constitution, something which they find very restrictive. They cannot see how a free people can live without the all powerful nanny-state telling them what to do.

CNN and the rest of the MSM Propaganda Machine have gone so far to the Left that they now have themselves and many Americans that watch them, believing that they are centrists. This has caused anyone that is Conservative to seem to them to be a far Rightwinger. They try to paint a picture that Conservatives are like Nazi's but this is just another ploy in their propaganda. They'll never call Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid a far Leftwinger, why not? It's not part of their agenda. They keep trying to portray them as centrists.

The Tea Party, which was totally ignored or ridiculed by CNN and the MSM, is a proud example to the rest of this country that we are not sheople and are aware of what has been happening. The Tea Party is the rise of the Silent Majority, which are telling both the Democrats and the Republicans that it is not the intention of today's Americans to abandon the Glorious cause of our forefathers. We will bring this country back to where she once was, American Exceptionalism will once again be the beacon of the world.

U.S. commanders in Afghanistan face tougher discipline for battlefield failures

The U.S. military has reprimanded an unusually large number of commanders for battlefield failures in Afghanistan in recent weeks, reflecting a new push by the top brass to hold commanders responsible for major incidents in which troops are killed or wounded, said senior military officials.

The military does not release figures on disciplinary actions taken against field commanders. But officials familiar with recent investigations said letters of reprimand or other disciplinary action have been recommended for officers involved in three ambushes in which U.S. troops battled Taliban forces in remote villages in 2008 and 2009. Such administrative actions can scuttle chances for promotion and end a career if they are made part of an officer's permanent personnel file.

The investigations are a departure for the U.S. military, which until recently has been reluctant to second-guess commanders whose decisions might have played a role in the deaths of soldiers in enemy action. Disciplinary action has been more common in cases in which U.S. troops have injured or killed civilians.

In response to the recent reprimands, some military officials have argued that casualties are inevitable in war and that a culture of excessive investigations could make officers risk-averse.

"This is a war where the other side is trying, too," said one Army officer who commanded troops in Afghanistan and requested anonymity in order to speak freely.

As many as five battlefield commanders have received letters of reprimand in the past month or have been the subject of an investigation by a general who recommended disciplinary action. A sixth commander received a less-severe formal letter of admonishment. None of the investigations or letters of reprimand has been released publicly.

The reprimands come amid growing political pressure from lawmakers who have pushed the military to assign greater accountability for incidents in which large numbers of U.S. troops are killed or wounded. The Pentagon's top leaders -- Adm. Mike Mullen, the Joint Chiefs chairman, and Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates -- also have been quicker to dismiss senior officers, fostering a change in the overall culture. In 2009 they relieved the top commander in Afghanistan for his stewardship of the war. "The issue of holding people accountable is something Admiral Mullen watches very, very carefully," said a senior military official.

The military's invigorated focus on accountability also seems driven by commanders' experience in war zones. Many of today's senior commanders in Iraq and Afghanistan are on their second or third combat tours and are more willing to judge their field subordinates. Meanwhile, the military is showing a greater willingness to study and learn from its mistakes, senior military officials said.

The change is particularly evident in the Army's response to ambushes on U.S. troops in the villages of Wanat and Kamdesh, both in eastern Afghanistan.

In the Wanat ambush, which left nine soldiers dead in 2008, a colonel from the local unit investigated the attack. He concluded that the troops fought bravely and committed no serious errors, despite reports from soldiers that they were left short of basic supplies, such as water and construction material, to build defenses.

Retired Col. David Brostrom, the father of the deceased platoon leader at Wanat, pressed the Pentagon for more than a year to launch a new probe into the attack, and also enlisted the support of several lawmakers, including Sen. James Webb (D-Va.). Last fall, Gen. David H. Petraeus, the head of U.S. Central Command, named a three-star Marine Corps general to launch a new investigation of the battle, which was completed last week. Petraeus was the commander in Iraq when the initial probe was conducted.

The second Wanat probe recommends that the company, battalion and brigade commanders who oversaw the battle face possible disciplinary action, said military officials. U.S. Central Command planned to release the findings of the new investigation last week but changed course after Mullen asked senior Army officials to review the 4,000-page probe to determine whether disciplinary action is needed against the chain of command.

"He wanted to slow things down and give the Army, as an institution, a chance to review the investigation in case there were any accountability issues. He felt very strongly about it," said Capt. John Kirby, a spokesman for Mullen.

The handling of the Wanat ambush appears to have set a precedent for how such investigations are conducted. In the attack last fall in Kamdesh, in which eight U.S. soldiers were killed, senior Army officials quickly dispatched a three-star general from outside Afghanistan to investigate the battle. This was done at the request of Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal, the top U.S. and NATO commander in Afghanistan, officials said.

On Wednesday, the families of the soldiers killed at Kamdesh received a call from an Army casualty assistance officer. The officer read from a prepared script informing them that the investigation was completed and that members of Congress would be briefed on its findings as early as Thursday.

The script praised the bravery of the troops at the Kamdesh outpost, which was briefly overrun by the enemy. It also suggested that commanders should have focused more attention on improving the base's defenses and on analyzing intelligence reports that the enemy was planning a large-scale assault.

The final investigation recommended that the squadron commander overseeing the outpost receive a letter of reprimand. The brigade commander was given a less-severe letter of admonishment, said military officials.

Both the squadron and brigade commanders overseeing the Kamdesh outpost had been pressing to close it for months after they determined that it made no sense to keep troops in the area. But plans to close the outpost were regularly delayed because of pressure from Afghan officials, who did not want to cede territory to the Taliban, and because of other missions deemed a higher priority.

Some family members of the deceased soldiers in the Kamdesh ambush said the officers who postponed shuttering the base, know as Combat Outpost Keating, should also be held accountable. "Combat Outpost Keating was predisposed to fail and it did," said John Petro, grandfather of Spec. Stephan Mace, who was killed at Kamdesh.

In the third incident that has resulted in a reprimand, four Marines were killed near the eastern Afghanistan village of Ganjgal when they were ambushed on their way to a meeting with local villagers. Senior Marine officials alleged that the Army battalion in the area was slow to provide artillery support to ward off the attack. After an investigation, the battalion executive officer, who was the senior officer on duty at the time, received a letter of reprimand, Army officials said. http://is.gd/7Mlfs

This is obviously a change in policy coming all the way from the top, from our Socialist President. There will be no failure and if there is it will be severely dealt with. This is a negative policy which will have a severe effect on the leadership of our Combat Troops. This reminds me of another war that was a few decades ago. The Democrats made a mess of that one too.

I was a junior Infantry Officer over twenty years ago and understand the difficulties in leading combat soldiers. I understand that if there is gross negligence in the actions of an officer in performance of his duties that cause the deaths of his men then it should be addressed. But it must be understood that casualties are to be expected during combat and it has always happened and will always happen.

This new policy that the military is taking will cause our Officer Corp to become more cautious and refuse to take risks that will hamper their careers. We are taking our great warriors and are handicapping them from becoming the great leaders that they can become and that we need.

POTUS is on track in his great quest to ruin our wonderful country and this is another failed policy that will help him succeed. This has to change or we doom the safety of our country and larger losses of American lives should be expected.

During World War II on June 6, 1944, the Allied Forces, under General Eisenhower, launched the biggest amphibious attack on the Axis Forces. They were to suffer extremely horrible losses.

Arizona HCR2014: National Health Care Nullification

Right on the heels of a successful state-by-state nullification of the 2005 Real ID act, the State of Arizona is out in the forefront of a growing resistance to proposed federal health care legislation.

This past Monday, the Arizona State Senate voted 18-11 to concur with the House and approve the Health Care Freedom Act (HCR2014). This will put a proposal on the 2010 ballot which would constitutionally override any law, rule or regulation that requires individuals or employers to participate in any particular health care system.

HCR2014, if approved by voters next year, also would prohibit any fine or penalty on anyone or any company for deciding to purchase health care directly. Doctors and health care providers would remain free to accept those funds and provide those services.

Finally, it would overrule anything that prohibits the sale of private health insurance in Arizona.

Five other states — Indiana, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Dakota and Wyoming — are considering similar initiatives for their 2010 ballots.

Real ID as the Blueprint?

While some constitutional experts are skeptical of the effect that such legislation could have, supporters can point to the successful campaign to oppose the Real ID Act.

In early 2007, Maine and then Utah passed resolutions refusing to implement the federal Real ID act on grounds that the law was unconstitutional. Well-over a dozen more states followed suit in passing legislation opposing Real ID.

Instead of attempting to force the law to implementation, the federal government delayed implementation not once, but twice, and additional states got on board with legally-binding legislation refusing Real ID implementation.

Earlier this month, the Obama administration, recognizing the insurmountable task of enforcing a law in the face of such broad resistance, announced that it was looking to “repeal and replace” the controversial law.

Nullification

When a state ‘nullifies’ a federal law, it is proclaiming that the law in question is void and inoperative, or ‘non-effective’, within the boundaries of that state; or, in other words, not a law as far as the state is concerned.

Nullification has a long and interesting history in American politics, and originates in the Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions of 1798. These resolutions, secretly authored by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison, asserted that states, as sovereign entities, could judge for themselves whether the federal government had overstepped its constitutional bounds, to the point of ignoring federal laws.

Virginia and Kentucky passed the resolutions in response to the federal Alien and Sedition Acts, which provided, in part, for the prosecution of anyone who criticized Congress or the President of the United States.

Historian Thomas E. Woods looks at nullification as a constitutional “check,” and a way to prevent one government from having the power to rule on the limits of its own authority:

“The main point that nullification aims to address is that a government allowed to determine the scope of its own powers cannot remain limited for long. This is a lesson we should have learned by now. Moreover, since piecemeal solutions to reducing federal power have accomplished nothing, we can hardly afford to dismiss out of hand the idea of nullification, a remedy that is at once creative and intelligent, and recommended by some of the greatest political thinkers in American history.”

Resistance Left, Right and Center?

Groups across the political spectrum have focused their efforts on this same principle – calling on state governments to not just say no to the federal government, but to actively resist federal laws and actions.

◦Firearms Freedom Acts have passed in both Montana and Tennessee, and under the force of law, call on those governments to refuse federal regulation of firearms made and kept in those respective states.
◦Bring the Guard Home is a campaign of mostly antiwar activists that are calling on governors to assert constitutional authority over their state’s guard – and refuse to deploy troops for any reason other than authorized by the constitution
◦Medical Marijuana Laws - have passed in multiple states around the country and are directly opposed to federal drug laws that see marijuana as illegal under all circumstances.
◦Real ID legislation has passed in approximately 2 dozen states requiring state governments to refuse implementation of the 2005 law.
◦Health Care Freedom Acts are being actively pursued in six states (including Arizona), and would resist proposed national health care legislation on a number of levels.

Broken Hearted

President Obama has been slipping in the polls as his Marxist policies are becoming evident. He has been able to achieve the lowest approval ratings of any President in our Nation's history. Amber Lee Ettinger fell for this shill of the Democrat Party, hook, line and sinker. She went and made a You Tube video that went viral. She was so infatuated with him because she had made this blank slate into what she believed he should be, like many other Americans had.


This video helped to gain favorable popularity for a person who was skilled at making inspiring speeches which held no message. President Obama, with the help of his teleprompter, was able to speak eloquently about nothing. After a year of failed policies and Socialist nationalization of our banks, industries and homes, Americans are now starting to take note that this was not what they were voting for. Amber is a disillusioned Obama sycophant who is joining the ranks of many of his former supporters.

I always suspected David and Barbara Mikkelson who were behind "Snopes" were Obama and liberal oriented --now we know!!

Guess we have to use "Truth or Fiction" now .

For the past few years www.snopes.com has positioned itself, or others have labeled it, as the 'tell-all final word' on any comment, claim and email . But for several years people tried to find out who exactly was behind snopes.com

Only recently did Wikipedia get to the bottom of it - kinda makes you wonder what they were hiding . Well, finally we know . It is run by a husband and wife team - that's right, no big office of investigators and researchers, no team of lawyers .
It's just a mom-and-pop operation that began as a hobby .

David and Barbara Mikkelson in the San Fernando Valley of California started the website about 13 years ago - and they have no formal background or experience in investigative research .

After a few years it gained popularity believing it to be unbiased and neutral, but over the past couple of years people started asking questions who was behind it and did they have a selfish motivation?

The reason for the questions - or skepticisms - is a result of snopes.com claiming to have the bottom line facts to certain questions or issue when in fact they have been proven wrong .

Also, there were criticisms the Mikkelsons were not really investigating and getting to the 'true' bottom of various issues .

A few months ago, when my State Farm agent Bud Gregg in Mandeville hoisted a political sign referencing Barack Obama and made a big splash across the Internet, 'supposedly' the Mikkelson's claim to have researched this issue before posting their findings on snopes.com . In their statement they claimed the corporate office of State Farm pressured Gregg into taking down the sign, when in fact nothing of the sort 'ever' took place .

I personally contacted David Mikkelson (and he replied back to me) thinking he would want to get to the bottom of this and I gave him Bud Gregg's contact phone numbers – and Bud was going to give him phone numbers to the big exec's at State Farm in Illinois who would have been willing to speak with him about it .

He never called Bud . In fact, I learned from Bud Gregg no one from snopes.com ever contacted anyone with State Farm. Yet, snopes.com http://snopes.com/ issued a statement as the 'final factual word' on the issue as if they did all their homework and got to the bottom of things - not!

Then it has been learned the Mikkelson's are very Democratic (party) and extremely liberal.

As we all now know from this presidential election, liberals have a purpose agenda to discredit anything that appears to be conservative . There has been much criticism lately over the Internet with people pointing out the Mikkelson's liberalism revealing itself in their web site findings .


Gee, what a shock?

So, I say this now to everyone who goes to snopes.com to get what they think to be the bottom line facts . . . proceed with caution . Take what it says at face value and nothing more . Use it only to lead you to their references where you can link to and read the sources for yourself .

Plus, you can always Google a subject and do the research yourself. It now seems apparent that's all the Mikkelson's do .

After all, I can personally vouch from my own experience for their 'not' fully looking into things .

I have found this to be true also!

Many videos of Obama I tried to verify on Snopes and they said they were False . . . . Then they gave their Liberal slant . . . . !!! I have suspected some problems with snopes for some time now, but I have only caught them in half-truths . If there is any subjectivity they do an immediate full left rudder.

I have recently discovered that Snopes . com is owned by a flaming liberal and this man is in the tank for Obama . Found Possible Stolen Police Dog

We were contacted a few days ago by a person that “found” the German Shepard shown below about 3 weeks ago. They are insistent that the dog has been stolen from it’s owner ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO. This is a young dog that is highly trained in what appears to be Police training. They happened to find a scar on the dog’s back that they think is where someone dug out a microchip. They are also quite insistent that the dog was stolen out of state. We have forwarded this information to a local sheriff that has a Police dog, and we are asking that you send this information out far and wide in an attempt to find the dog’s owner. They are referring to the dog as “her”, and are reluctant to let us bring the dog here until an owner is found. We have assured them that if there is a reward, that we never accept a reward, and that we will be sure it goes to them. There has to be someone out there looking for this beautiful girl.
