Dim light - Peggy West

I haven't added anyone to my Dim Light section in awhile since being overwhelmed by Libturd stupidity. The question in this Progressives mind is? Donde esta Arizona? Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors member Peggy West is happy to follow suit with all of President Incompetent's talking points and is adamant of supporting him by coming up with an excuse that only a 5th Grader from a Public School can envision in her dimwit mind.

I blame the American people for their apathy in getting these Progressives elected. Politicians and elections do have consequences. The mess that we have has been orchestrated by a small Libturd elite that have used this situation to put their people in power.

Watch this debacle of a Progressive Politician.

Hey Peggy, here is a map for you, meathead...

I guess that the saddest thing about this is that she, along with many drones like her, will be reelected to public office. What a shame.

Marine Corp's Gadsden flag

I came upon an article about Marine Corp Veterans from Connecticut, who want to fly the Gadsden flag over their state capital. The article mentioned that it was the original flag carried by the Marine Corp in 1775. It was a symbol that was very popular at the time and has made an unprecedented comeback today, for the freedom for which it stands for.

To read the article===> http://is.gd/d95z6

The symbol of the timber rattlesnake was being used by American colonists as far back as 1775. It had been used before as a snake that was cut into smaller pieces to symbolize that any division would lead to our defeat. This is seen in Ben Franklin's cartoon made in 1754.

By 1775 however, we are using a the symbol of a solid snake, coiled to strike, if we trample on it. This signified our attitude that we were now united in purpose and the motto, "Don't Tread on Me", is printed under the poised animal, upon a bright yellow field.

'In the fall of 1775, the British were occupying Boston and the young Continental Army was holed up in Cambridge, woefully short on arms and ammunition. At the Battle of Bunker Hill, Washington's troops had been so low on gunpowder that they were ordered "not to fire until you see the whites of their eyes."

In October, a merchant ship called The Black Prince returned to Philadelphia from a voyage to England. On board were private letters to the Second Continental Congress that informed them that the British government was sending two ships to America loaded with arms and gunpowder for the British troops.

Congress decided that General Washington needed those arms more than the British. A plan was hatched to capture the cargo ships. They authorized the creation of a Continental Navy, starting with four ships. The frigate that carried the information from England, the Black Prince, was one of the four. It was purchased, converted to a man-of-war, and renamed the Alfred.

To accompany the Navy on their first mission, Congress also authorized the mustering of five companies of Marines. The Alfred and its sailors and marines went on to achieve some of the most notable victories of the American Revolution. But that's not the story we're interested in here.

What's particularly interesting for us is that some of the Marines that enlisted that month in Philadelphia were carrying drums painted yellow, emblazoned with a fierce rattlesnake, coiled and ready to strike, with thirteen rattles, and sporting the motto "Don't Tread on Me." '

Ben Franklin writes about his preference for the timber rattlesnake as our national symbol:

"I recollected that her eye excelled in brightness, that of any other animal, and that she has no eye-lids—She may therefore be esteemed an emblem of vigilance.—She never begins an attack, nor, when once engaged, ever surrenders: She is therefore an emblem of magnanimity and true courage.—As if anxious to prevent all pretensions of quarreling with her, the weapons with which nature has furnished her, she conceals in the roof of her mouth, so that, to those who are unacquainted with her, she appears to be a most defenseless animal; and even when those weapons are shewn and extended for her defense, they appear weak and contemptible; but their wounds however small, are decisive and fatal:—Conscious of this, she never wounds till she has generously given notice, even to her enemy, and cautioned him against the danger of treading on her.—Was I wrong, Sir, in thinking this a strong picture of the temper and conduct of America?"
Franklin, Benjamin. Pennsylvania Journal, December, 27, 1775

From the Gadsden Daily News

Gadsden’s flag
In fall 1775, the United States Navy was established to intercept incoming British ships carrying war supplies to the British troops in the colonies. To aid in this, the Second Continental Congress authorized the mustering of five companies of Marines to accompany the Navy on their first mission. The first Marines that enlisted were from Philadelphia and they carried drums painted yellow, depicting a coiled rattlesnake with thirteen rattles, and the motto “Don’t Tread On Me.” This is the first recorded mention of the future Gadsden flag’s symbolism.

At the Congress, Continental Colonel Christopher Gadsden was representing his home state of South Carolina. He was one of three members of the Marine Committee who were outfitting the first naval mission. It is unclear whether Gadsden took his inspiration from the Marines’ drums, or if he inspired them himself.

Before the departure of that first mission, the newly appointed commander-in-chief of the Navy, Commodore Esek Hopkins, received the yellow rattlesnake flag described above from Gadsden to serve as his distinctive personal standard.

Gadsden also presented a copy of this flag to his state legislature in Charleston and was recorded in the South Carolina congressional journals:

Col. Gadsden presented to the Congress an elegant standard, such as is to be used by the commander in chief of the American navy; being a yellow field, with a lively representation of a rattle-snake in the middle, in the attitude of going to strike, and these words underneath, “Don’t Tread on Me!”

Contemporary significance
Considered one of the first flags of the United States, the flag was later replaced by the current Stars and Stripes (or Old Glory) flag. Since the Revolution, the flag has seen times of reintroduction as a symbol of American patriotism.

For instance, unofficial usage of the Gadsden flag by the U.S. Government has been seen, particularly in the wake of September 11, 2001, most notably by Customs and harbor patrol boats in U.S. ports and individuals serving abroad in the U.S. Military. The First Navy Jack, which was directly related to the Gadsden flag, has also been in use by the U.S. Navy, and since the terrorist attacks is flown on all active naval ships. The rattlesnake from the flag is shown on the U.S. Army Drill Sergeant Identification Badge. In the media, Nike also used the image of a snake coiled around a soccer ball for an ongoing, patriotic “Don’t Tread On Me” campaign in support of the United States men’s national soccer team.

Many Boy Scout troops in America part of the BSA as well as their council building display the flag and incorporate it into badges and flag displays.

For historical reasons, the flag is still popularly flown in Charleston, South Carolina, being the city where Christopher Gadsden first presented the flag, and where it was commonly used during the revolution, along with the blue and white crescent flag of pre-Civil War South Carolina. It also appears in a historical context in the 2000 film The Patriot in Charleston and in battle alongside the Old Glory flag. http://is.gd/d95UF

The US Navy still flies the Navy Jack on it's ships. It has been currently doing it now since the attacks on the Twin Towers in New york City.

The First Navy Jack (1775): One of the first flags flown by our U.S. Navy may have been an adaptation of the "Rebellious Stripes" created at the time of the Stamp Act Congress. It featured thirteen red and white stripes. Stretched across them was the rippling form of a rattlesnake, and the words, "DON'T TREAD ON ME"- a striking indication of the colonists' courage and fierce desire for independence.

The flag we know today as the first Navy Jack (sometimes known as the "Culpepper Flag) is believed to have flown aboard the Alfred, flagship of the newly commissioned Continental fleet, in January, 1776. American ships used this flag, or one of its variations, throughout the Revolutionary War. http://is.gd/d96qR

Victory in Iraq?

I have to say that I am still amazed to find out that there are still people who don't even know that the War in Iraq was won. There are even people who ask, by who? The Libturds of the MSM must be congratulated for doing an outstanding propaganda job that they kept the entire thing so quiet. Good job Progressives. It was obviously simple since there is nothing but rampant apathy in this country anyways.

Yes, we won, but at such a cost that it left an awful taste in our mouths. This is because we found that even though we were blowing up moronic 12th Century mudheads to send them to their Allah. Those of us that cared for what was happening in this country were fighting an ideological civil war about the future of our nation. This is a nation that should be called 'The Ideologically Divided People of North America except Canada' and not the United States. A part of our people who want to change the way that country has been since it's foundation are now in control and are trying to ram as much down our throats before the majority can say and do anything about it. There is such disdain amongst ourselves that we cannot even decide when and what to call victory.

Here is a Libturd actually telling people that we won:

I agree with Stephen Colbert, we won in Iraq. It's called victory.

The Democrats were very much against our country winning in Iraq. There were many of their leadership that outright stated that we had lost. President Bush adjusted what was a war that was being prosecuted wrongly and brought us, General Patraeus. Obama lead his party criticizing Patraeus and trying to have their mission fail. Watch President Incompetent argue against the winning policies of Patraeus.

It's ironic now that President incompetent is now placing General Patraeus in charge of the mission in Afghanistan. Libturds can always be counted on for being such hypocrites.

Oh and here is another one of my favorites statments from Leader of Congress, on the war of Iraq, while our soldiers were fighting there.

This country had better get it's act together quick because the barbarians are at our gates.

This is how I feel.

Democrat Assaults Student

Since when is it acceptable behavior that a congressman assaults a young student in the street? Why isn't this being shown on the MSM? Why can't a citizen approach a public official and politely ask a question in our nation's capital?
These were Congressman Bob Etheridge(D-NC)'s reprehensible actions when a student attempted to ask a question. Why isn't this guy getting continual 24 hour scrutiny and news coverage on the MSM? Why isn't he sitting in jail in Washington? He clearly battered this young man.
Oh yeah...what am I thinking, he's a Democrat. If he were a Republican then it would be completely different. This is outrageous and I hope that the authorities, in Washington DC, do something about it. Bob should seriously consider resigning.

235th Birthday, US Army!

White House : Thug Life

President Incompetent spent many embarrassing moments bowing to Burger King. He was finally told by his fellow Progressives that he shouldn't be doing this and that he was losing face. He was able to use all the intelligence resources at his disposal to locate him in the Gulf of Mexico area. They found the Burger King looking to buy oily fish patties. When POTUS was asked by the MSM of his weak performance in dealing with the Burger King. He responded:

President Incompetent finally was able to challenge Burger King to a final challenge and show the country that he was not only able to bring the dignity of his office to just one low but to actually drag it about the gutter. He can be seen here bringing his new Thug Life policies to a private business man.

Progressives war on Babies continues

The Progressives continue their relentless pursuit to weaken this nation by undermining our Military when it is focused on a very 'Long War' in Afghanistan. They have already gone ahead with their attempt at rescinding the 'Don't ask, don't tell' policy already established in the Military. They have done this, without waiting for the current Military members input as they originally proposed.
They are now pushing from a new direction against the Military from a new direction. The Progressives have always had a policy of 'War on Babies'. This new attempt at Women's health is yet another theater opened in their vile attempts to destroy babies. They are now introducing this shameful procedure once again into our Military. This was brought upon us by another unelected official, Sen. Roland Burris D-IL. (Yeah, he holds Obama's old seat.) Read on:

Military abortion issue returns
Senate amendment reverses ban on procedure overseas

By Rachel Duke THE WASHINGTON TIMES
8:51 p.m., Monday, June 7, 2010

Three months after abortion nearly derailed President Obama's health care bill, the hot-button issue is back before Congress with an amendment to the Senate's defense policy bill that would end the military's long-established ban on allowing abortions in its overseas hospitals.

The change was sponsored by Sen. Roland W. Burris, Illinois Democrat, and passed by the Senate Armed Services Committee in late May. It would require women to pay for abortions upfront and without government funds, but would allow doctors at military hospitals to perform the procedures if those conditions are met.

The amendment would overturn a policy put into place by congressional Republicans in the mid-1990s that restricted abortions at military hospitals only to cases of rape, incest, or when the woman's life is in danger.

Military personnel deserve "the highest quality care," said Mr. Burris, and "that includes allowing women and their families the right to choose at facilities operated under the Department of Defense." The amendment passed the committee on a 15-12 vote.

But the provision has angered pro-life lawmakers, who argue that taxpayer dollars would still go to fund doctors and surgical equipment used for abortions in military hospitals, and questioned why the policy change was implemented in the annual defense policy bill.

"This administration and its allies seem determined to upend widely accepted compromises reached on a variety of issues," said Rep. William M. "Mac" Thornberry, Texas Republican and a member of the House Armed Services Committee. "Most Americans would find it deeply offensive to have their taxpayer dollars go to pay for abortions in the military."

The battle is erupting just a few months after a fight over taxpayer funding of abortion almost sank the Democrats' health care bill. Pro-life activists argued that the bill expanded government-funded coverage of abortions, and nearly rallied enough votes to defeat the entire measure. Mr. Obama intervened and begged Democrats not to use health care to alter abortion policy.

Similar issues are in play in the defense bill - popular legislation that is considered crucial.

A White House spokesman didn't return messages seeking comment on the president's position.

Abortion rights groups applauded the committee's vote. Nancy Keenan, president of NARAL Pro-Choice America, said joining the military "shouldn't cause women to lose health care options if they're stationed overseas."

The Senate's defense bill, including the Burris amendment, still faces a vote in the full chamber, and must then be squared with the House's bill, which does not include any changes to the abortion policy.

House Armed Services Committee Chairman Ike Skelton, Missouri Democrat, opposed the change, and his spokeswoman said that if the final Senate bill includes the amendment, the difference would be hashed out in the House-Senate conference committee.

"Chairman Skelton is pro-life and has stood for years against repealing this abortion prohibition within the Defense Department," said spokeswoman Lara Battles. "His stance on the issue has not changed."

Polls show the country has shifted toward pro-life positions since Mr. Obama took office. In May 2009 a Gallup poll found 51 percent of Americans identified themselves as pro-life, while 42 percent called themselves pro-choice. That had slipped to 47 percent pro-life versus 45 percent pro-choice in a Gallup poll last month.

The military ban has a long history. It was first imposed in spending bills in the late 1970s and was codified in defense policy in 1985. President Clinton issued an executive order in 1993 allowing women to obtain privately funded abortions at overseas military hospitals, but pro-life groups said that military doctors refused to perform the procedures and civilian doctors had to be brought in.

In 1995, Republicans reimposed the ban, with exceptions for rape, incest or the life of the mother. But government funds can only be used for cases in which the mother's life is in danger.

The Burris amendment would also allow doctors to refuse to perform abortions in overseas facilities, according to Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin, Michigan Democrat, who supported the change.

Rep. Christopher H. Smith, New Jersey Republican and a leading opponent of abortion on Capitol Hill, said pro-life forces would push to keep the ban in place.

"Weve had to fight this fight before," Mr. Smith said. "Military hospitals should not be turned into abortion mills."

He said the issue puts Mr. Obama on the spot again after the president signed an executive order in March, after passage of the health care reform measure, to preserve policies that keep federal funds from paying for abortions.

"This will now be a test to see if Obama sticks to his word," Mr. Smith said.

Dont Ask Dont Tell Military Uniform

You can see here Rep. Barney Frank modelling the Military's new 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' Uniform.

The Progressives of the Democrat Party are continuing their quest to destroy this country in whatever manner that they can. They have chosen once again to undermine our military which is involved in a very long war, to bring forth a very divisive and demoralizing subject. They plan on ramming thru, before their pending electoral rout this year, the so called 'open gays' in the military policy. This policy is will be another step that the Progressives take in order to change this country and make it into their vision instead of God's. This has been his message for previous empires:

Romans 1
1 From Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle,
2 set apart for the service of the gospel that God promised long ago through his prophets in the holy scriptures.
3 This is the gospel concerning his Son who, in terms of human nature
4 was born a descendant of David and who, in terms of the Spirit and of holiness, was designated Son of God in power by resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ, our Lord,
5 through whom we have received grace and our apostolic mission of winning the obedience of faith among all the nations for the honour of his name.
6 You are among these, and by his call you belong to Jesus Christ.
7 To you all, God's beloved in Rome, called to be his holy people. Grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
8 First I give thanks to my God through Jesus Christ for all of you because your faith is talked of all over the world.
9 God, whom I serve with my spirit in preaching the gospel of his Son, is my witness that I continually mention you in my prayers,
10 asking always that by some means I may at long last be enabled to visit you, if it is God's will.
11 For I am longing to see you so that I can convey to you some spiritual gift that will be a lasting strength,
12 or rather that we may be strengthened together through our mutual faith, yours and mine.
13 I want you to be quite certain too, brothers, that I have often planned to visit you -- though up to the present I have always been prevented -- in the hope that I might work as fruitfully among you as I have among the gentiles elsewhere.
14 I have an obligation to Greeks as well as barbarians, to the educated as well as the ignorant,
15 and hence the eagerness on my part to preach the gospel to you in Rome too.
16 For I see no reason to be ashamed of the gospel; it is God's power for the salvation of everyone who has faith -- Jews first, but Greeks as well-
17 for in it is revealed the saving justice of God: a justice based on faith and addressed to faith. As it says in scripture: Anyone who is upright through faith will live.
18 The retribution of God from heaven is being revealed against the ungodliness and injustice of human beings who in their injustice hold back the truth.
19 For what can be known about God is perfectly plain to them, since God has made it plain to them:
20 ever since the creation of the world, the invisible existence of God and his everlasting power have been clearly seen by the mind's understanding of created things. And so these people have no excuse:
21 they knew God and yet they did not honour him as God or give thanks to him, but their arguments became futile and their uncomprehending minds were darkened.
22 While they claimed to be wise, in fact they were growing so stupid
23 that they exchanged the glory of the immortal God for an imitation, for the image of a mortal human being, or of birds, or animals, or crawling things.
24 That is why God abandoned them in their inmost cravings to filthy practices of dishonouring their own bodies-
25 because they exchanged God's truth for a lie and have worshipped and served the creature instead of the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 That is why God abandoned them to degrading passions:
27 why their women have exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural practices; and the men, in a similar fashion, too, giving up normal relations with women, are consumed with passion for each other, men doing shameful things with men and receiving in themselves due reward for their perversion.
28 In other words, since they would not consent to acknowledge God, God abandoned them to their unacceptable thoughts and indecent behaviour.
29 And so now they are steeped in all sorts of injustice, rottenness, greed and malice; full of envy, murder, wrangling, treachery and spite,
30 libellers, slanderers, enemies of God, rude, arrogant and boastful, enterprising in evil, rebellious to parents,
31 without brains, honour, love or pity.
32 They are well aware of God's ordinance: that those who behave like this deserve to die -- yet they not only do it, but even applaud others who do the same.

Conspiracy of the Elites

What are the Bilderberg Group really doing in Spain?

Security is so tight at the annual cabal of the world's elite that conspiracy theories about what is discussed – and who's invited – are rife

By Anita Brooks in Sitges, The Independent

Friday, June 4, 2010

If the conspiracy theorists are on to something, they could be plotting the invasion of Iran, planning the funeral of the Euro or scheming to wipe out French poodles in pink sweaters at this very minute.

Or perhaps the world's financial and political leaders are simply schmoozing about their golf game as they enjoy a "chocolate massage" followed by the "honey body scrub" and the "spectacular oxygen Echo2 facial" at the Dolce Hotel's spa in Sitges.

It is also possible that the world's executives, media moguls, and financial gurus came to the elegant seaside town near Barcelona to study the booming gay tourist market there (although they missed the wild Carnival celebration by a few months) and to sneak a preview of next year's international horror film festival.

But ordinary citizens can only guess at the goings-on at the annual meeting of the secretive Bilderberg Group, a media-barred pow-wow of the global elite that in the past has reportedly attracted former US President Bill Clinton, Tony Blair and David Cameron, and US treasury secretary Timothy Geithner. Even the late Enoch Powell once attended.

The heavyweight weekend retreat kicked off yesterday with hordes of police security and a gag order for employees at the luxury Dolce, whose aptly-named presidential suites overlook the Mediterranean. None of the illustrious guests posed for photos or spouted prepared statements for the media. Instead, activists, journalists and bloggers attempted to stake out positions in the surrounding hills to catch glimpses of this year's participants, guerrilla-warrior style.

"We just dropped two people by the hills and they are trying to run for cover so they aren't spotted by the snipers," said Hannah Borno, co-founder of an activist agency, Trilever, which is calling for transparency on the Bilderberg deliberations and offers information (also known as leaks) to the press. "I hope they're OK."

Ms Borno paid €135 for the hotel's cheapest room for the chance to see the preparations – as well as swarming secret service agents – before being forced to leave for a nearby campsite, surrounded by police. Overhead: a no-fly zone.

"The public is paying for this security," she added. "I can see 20 to 30 police vans right now. We are offering a pro-bono lawyer in case any of the activists or bloggers are arrested."

Some people consider the Bilderberg Group, founded in 1954, an innocent brainstorming session, but the cloak-and-dagger theorists scored a point this week when the self-appointed Bilderberg expert Daniel Estulin addressed the European Parliament on the invitation of an Italian member, Mario Borghezio.

Mr Estulin, an investigative journalist who has written two best-selling books on the subject, contends that "the Bilderberg Club" is not a classic conspiracy but a potentially dangerous meeting of minds with a common goal: to centralise global economic power to benefit corporations. He defined it as "a virtual spider web of interlocking financial, political and industrial interests".

"It isn't a secret society," he said. "No matter how powerful they are, no group sits around a table holding hands and deciding the world's future. It is an ideology."

Secret society or not, the speculation surrounding Bilderberg rivals the eternal question of who shot JFK – to the extent that one Spanish activist vowed he has sighted freemasonry symbols on the Sitges hotel. Being the meeting is secret, it is impossible to confirm which executives and lawmakers have checked into the spiffy Dolce, in the heart of golf-and-sunbathing territory. Politicians often deny participation. But according to press leaks, this year's A-list participants include Queen Beatrix of Holland, Spain's Queen Reina Sofia (supposedly a regular), World Trade Organisation Director Pascal Lamy, European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet, former NATO chief Jaap de Hoop Scheffer and former Spanish vice president Pedro Solbes, known during his stint as an EU commissioner as "Mr Euro".

Meanwhile, Extremadura Progresista, a left-wing newspaper from Extremadura, one of Spain's poorest regions, published a list of participants on its website, including former Secretary of State for Business Peter Mandelson and the Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne (although he's currently in Asia), plus executives from Siemens AG, Microsoft, Royal Dutch Shell, Chase Manhattan Bank and Morgan Stanley International.

And what might this all-star cast be discussing between forkfuls of paella and sips of cava on a warm summer's eve? Topics reportedly include everything from the possible failure of the euro and the creation of a global currency, to a military strike against Iran.

Another issue supposedly on the agenda is the financial meltdown in Greece, where last year's brainstorming session was held. The irony is not lost on Spanish activists, who hope the Bilderberg "witches' Sabbath" does not brew bad tidings for the troubled Spanish economy. "We joke that the horror film festival is starting early," Didac Sanchez, an activist with the organisation EcoXarxa Montseny, told The Independent over the phone amid background chanting. "The monsters are here."

Thursday's protests, which attracted about 100 demonstrators, were paltry compared to previous anti-globalisation rallies in Catalonia – partly because chic-and-wealthy Sitges is not the sort of place to get ruffled about whatever a bunch of CEOs do in their spare time. But Bilderberg's low profile also played a part.

"It's so secretive that not even people in the leftist movements know about it," Mr Sanchez said. "And it's so frightening that people can't even believe that it's real. Some people theorise that they want to kill off half the world; others believe they're directing the world's finances. But we're here to say it is real, it is happening."

He expects momentum to build throughout the weekend, however. The carnival-inspired theme of the protest is "unmasking Bilderberg". "We will set up a healing camp," he said. "It will be a festival of cleansing."

The guests...

Jean Claude Trichet, European Bank President

Reina Sofia, Queen of Spain

... and the alumni

Job Rate Improving

Really? This Reuter's article would have you believe that. The MSM must put that kind of spin on what the Obama Regime is doing. But take a close look at this article and you find that the huge increase in jobs, over 400,000, which sounds extremely positive, is actually an illusion. The are temporary government jobs with the Census Bureau which will end after a few months. These jobs would have a negative impact on our economy in the long run, because they produce nothing. The jobs that actually produce a fruitful long time impact to our economy come from the private sector and that actually took a loss as employers actually hired less people.
POTUS continues to push his Socialist policies down a resistant 'Free Market' economic system. He doesn't seem to be able to get a grasp on his job. It appears that reading pretty fantasy from a teleprompter will not be enough to be a leader. People are starting to wash the sand from their eyes and are realizing that this dream is actually a nightmare. The Stock Market might have done well on this news that day but it will surely continue it's drop when reality sets in.

Payrolls hit 10-year high on Census

Reuters

On Friday June 4, 2010, 8:38 am
By Lucia Mutikani

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Nonfarm payrolls grew at their fastest pace in 10 years in May, buoyed by recruitment for the decennial census, but private hiring slowed sharply as businesses opted to increase hours rather than hire new workers.

The Labor Department said on Friday payrolls rose 431,000 as the government hired 411,000 workers to conduct the population count. That was the largest monthly increase since March 2000 and marked a fifth straight month of gains.

Private employment, a barometer of labor market strength, increased just 41,000 after rising 218,000 in April. Employers did increase hours, however, and the average workweek increased to 34.2 hours from 34.1 hours in April.

Payrolls data for March and April was revised to show 22,000 fewer jobs created than previously reported. May's hefty employment gain lowered the unemployment rate to 9.7 percent from 9.9 percent in April.

Analysts polled by Reuters had expected non-farm payrolls to rise 513,000 and private businesses to create 190,000 jobs. The jobless rate had been seen dipping to 9.8 percent.

The economy has now grown for three straight quarters and the recovery from the worst recession since the Great Depression of the 1930s is broadening out.

The jobless rate is a drag on President Barack Obama's popularity and could cost the Democratic Party dearly in November's congressional elections, with voters in an anti-incumbent and anti-Washington mood.

Unemployment will probably remain high through the year as the millions of people who lost their jobs during the recession seek work.

The firming jobs market may encourage those who dropped out of the labor force to resume their search, which could keep the jobless rate elevated because workers are counted as unemployed only if they are actively looking for work.

Outside the census, hiring slowed significantly from the prior months. The dominant services sector, saw payrolls increase 37,000 after surging 156,000 in April. The goods producing sector created only 4,000 new jobs following 62,000 jobs in April. This was as construction employment fell 35,000 after gaining 14,000 in April.

Recruitment for the population count saw government employment rising 390,000, overshadowing the drag from jobs cuts in cash-strapped states and localities.

Job growth is critical to sustain a rebound in consumer spending, especially now that recovery in Europe is under threat from government spending cuts to bring down huge budget deficits.

The debt crisis, stemming from Greece's fiscal problems, has hammered global stock markets, but analysts so far see a limited impact on the U.S. economy.

Update:
It appears that I wasn't the only one that saw this coming. I'll admit that I have a laymans idea about the Stock market but I could see that these wiz-kids would be able to see what was clearly written. The final result Friday was a 323 point drop in the DOW.

Disappointing jobs report sends stocks sliding
Stock plunge to 4-month low on disappointing employment report and drop in euro; Dow falls 323

Associated Press

Stephen Bernard, AP Business Writer, On Friday June 4, 2010, 6:41 pm
NEW YORK (AP) -- Stocks fell to their lowest level in four months Friday after the government said hiring remains weak and another European country warned its economy was in trouble.

The Dow Jones industrial average dropped 323 points to close below 10,000. It was the lowest finish since February and the third-worst slide of the year.

Major indexes all lost more than 3 percent. The drop pushed the market back into what's called a "correction," or a decline of at least 10 percent from its April high.

Interest rates slid after traders shoveled money into the safety of Treasurys and the dollar.

Retailers were among the hardest-hit stocks after investors bet that a weak job market would discourage consumers from spending. Macy's fell 6.5 percent. Financial stocks also fell sharply on concerns that borrowers would continue having problems paying their bills. Banks were hurt by more worries about their exposure to Europe's debt crisis. American Express lost 5.3 percent.

The government's May jobs report came as an unpleasant surprise for investors who had grown a little more upbeat about the domestic economy the past few days. The Labor Department said private employers hired just 41,000 workers in May, down dramatically from 218,000 in April and the lowest number since January. The news made it clear that the economic recovery isn't yet picking up the momentum that investors have been looking for.

The government said 431,000 jobs overall were created last month, but most of those them, 411,000, came from government hiring of temporary census workers. The overall number also fell short of expectations. Economists polled by Thomson Reuters had forecast employers would add 513,000 jobs.

"People are looking for one turning point," Daniel Penrod, senior industry analyst for the California Credit Union League, said of the monthly jobs report. "That's not realistic. This growth will be much slower and more gradual than in the past."

The unemployment rate fell to 9.7 percent from 9.9 percent in April. That was slightly better than the 9.8 percent unemployment rate economists had forecast.

The jobs report was the latest during the week to signal that the economy isn't as robust as hoped.

"It's almost as if the worst fears of the market were realized, at least in this one report," said Richard Sparks, senior equities analyst at Schaeffer's Investment Research.

The slowdown in hiring last month cast more doubt on how much consumers will be able to pick up their spending. A day earlier, retailers reported sluggish sales for May. Stocks of clothing retailers were among the big losers after the jobs report as traders bet shoppers would stick to buying necessities.

Credit card companies and regional banks also fell sharply.

Meanwhile, the spokesman for Hungary's new prime minister described the country's economy as being in a "grave" situation. He also said his government is ready to avoid a crisis like the one being faced by Greece, which had to be bailed out by the European Union. Spain and Portugal are also struggling.

The Dow fell 323.31, or 3.2 percent, to 9,931.97, its steepest drop since May 20. All 30 stocks that make up the index fell.

It was the Dow's third drop of more than 300 points this year, all of which occurred in the last month. The Dow is now down 11.4 percent from its 2010 peak of 11,205, which it reached on April 26.

The Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 37.95, or 3.4 percent, to 1,064.88. The index is down 12.5 percent from its 2010 high.

The Nasdaq composite index dropped 83.86, or 3.6 percent, to 2,219.17. It's down 12.3 percent from its high of the year.

Fewer than 300 of the nearly 3,000 stocks that trade on the New York Stock Exchange rose. Consolidated volume came to 6.3 billion shares compared with 5 billion Thursday.

Only three of the stocks in the S&P 500 index rose: Cephalon Inc., Frontier Communications Corp. and People's United Financial Inc.

For the week, the Dow lost 2 percent, its third straight weekly drop. The S&P 500 index fell 2.3 percent and the Nasdaq dropped 1.7 percent.

Investors moved money into safe investments including Treasurys because of the weak employment report and the faltering euro. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note, which moves opposite its price, fell to 3.21 percent from 3.37 percent late Thursday. The yield on the 10-year note is often used as a benchmark for consumer loans and mortgages.

Analysts say there is little in the way of economic news that could shake the market from its funk.

"It's hard to see over the next month what will make stocks rally," said Paul Zemsky, head of asset allocation at ING Investment Management in New York. It might not be until next month's employment report that investors get the kind of positive news that could propel stocks higher, he said.

Investors are also worrying about the impact that Europe's economic problems could have on the U.S. During the past month, investors have been preoccupied with rising debts in Europe, fearing they could hobble the regional economy and eventually the U.S.

"The events in Hungary are reminding the market that the problems with sovereign debt are a lingering affair," said Nick Kalivas, vice president of financial research at MF Global in Chicago. He added that reminders of Europe's debt crisis will pop up on occasion and send stocks lower, in much the way that the market faltered early in the subprime mortgage crisis.

"Until there's a resolution, we're just going to kind of have to deal with it," Kalivas said.

A drop in the euro, the currency used by 16 countries in Europe, contributed to stocks' slide. The euro fell as low as $1.1956, a four-year low. Hungary doesn't use the euro but the drop the currency was a sign of flagging confidence in Europe's economy.

The euro has fallen more than 10 percent since stocks peaked six weeks ago.

Overseas, Britain's FTSE 100 fell 1.8 percent, Germany's DAX index fell 1.9 percent, and France's CAC-40 dropped 2.9 percent. All three indexes rose early in the day.

Among retail stocks, Macy's Inc. fell $1.46, or 6.5 percent, to $21.03. JCPenney Stores Co. fell $1.59, or 5.9 percent, to $25.48 and Liz Claiborne Inc. slid 63 cents, or 10.2 percent, to $5.55.

Credit card issuers also dropped. American Express Co. fell $2.13, or 5.3 percent, to $38.41. Discover Financial Services Inc. fell 66 cents, or 4.9 percent, to $12.86. Regional banks, considered vulnerable to failed loans, also fell sharply. Key Corp. dropped 40 cents, or 4.9 percent, to $7.77. Regions Financial Corp. lost 51 cents, or 6.7 percent, to $7.13.

Oil prices fell sharply as investors pulled out of commodities, which like stocks are seen as risky assets. Investors were also wondering whether demand might fall if the economy is weaker than expected. Benchmark crude dropped $3.10 to $71.51 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

The Russell 2000 index of smaller stocks fell 33.40, or 5 percent, to 633.97.

Higher Standards

Conservatives are held to higher standards. This is from an email which I sent out to a Liberal friend, yes I do have them. I had used the term 'Libtard' which I do from time to time. I did some soul searching and reflection before responding to the correspondence.

"I have given this topic a little bit of thought and I agree with you. Conservatives are always held to a higher standard by both the Progressives and themselves. It is accepted by our national population that it is ok for Liberals to call Conservatives names such as 'Christian Militiamen', 'Religious Right', 'Swift boaters', 'fascists', 'racists', 'neoconservatives', and my new favorite, 'teabagger'. The Progressives have been very effective in their propaganda to be able to get people in this country to view things with a leftist tinge. and continue with the moral high ground that is expected of a Conservative. 1. http://is.gd/czCng

This concerted efforts by the Left, since the beginning of the 20th century, is admirable and was needed since there was unchecked control by industrialists and business owners. The unfortunate side effect is that these industrial engines that brought our culture to the forefront of the world are now being viewed too much today in a negative light by the population that has benefited the most by it. This has caused our nation to begin a downturn as can be seen in the current state of our economy and high unemployment rate.

There is now a huge divide in this country in how we see America. There are some who believe in 'Conservatism' and that by continuing the principles of the Constitution, this country can continue it's ascendancy to greatness. They believe that this path will lead the world to see us as that 'shining city on the hill'. They see America as a positive force that has benefited not only ourselves but the rest of the world.

There are those that believe in 'Progressivism' which view the Constitution as too limiting of the power of Government (as it was designed by the founders to do). They believe that they know what is good for the population and that through big Government, it is the instrument to do it with, the nanny-state. They see America as a negative force in the world and want to take this nation into a parity with these lesser nations.

The saddest part of this disagreement is that the majority of the people in this country are apathetic to it today. They don't care one way or the other which direction that this country takes. Try to read about the great events of our nation and you'll find that only a very small percentage of the population actually took a stand and were involved. So as a Conservative, I will continue to try to take the moral high ground as is expected and I will try to refrain from using negative terms. The Liberals can do and say what they want because of lowered expectations and standards. You can be proud though, that at least you took a stand for your beliefs and history will note that.

I think that sometimes we don't understand each other, so I leave you this brief explanation of what we believe. “Conservatism is a paradigm of essences towards which the phenomenology of the world is in continuing approximation.” 2. http://is.gd/czDLD "

The Bilderberg Group

The True Story of the Bilderberg Group - (Paperback)

By Daniel Estulin

As a rhetorical question, can someone please explain to me how it is that progressive liberals such as John Edwards and Hillary Clinton, as well as do-gooder humanitarians with multiple social projects ongoing such as the Rockefellers and every Royal House in Europe, can perennially attend Bilderberg meetings apparently knowing that the final objective of this despicable group of hoodlums is a fascist One World Empire? —Daniel Estulin (P.318)—

Daniel Estulin is a Madrid-based journalist and an investigative reporter who took on the daunting and dangerous task of researching the Bildeberg Group. Equally intriguing as his harrowing tales of being followed and nearly killed on a couple of occasions while working on the book, is the manner in which Estulin connects the dots between the Bilderberg Group, world events, notable politicians and corporate tycoons and the two other secretive monsters of the ruling elite, the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and the Trilateral Commission (TC). The project lasted fifteen years and was motivated by Estulin's curiosity about how it is that the mainstream media has never covered in depth the meetings of the Bilderberg Group whose combined wealth exceeds the combined wealth of all U.S. citizens.

What Estulin's book makes clear is that the group, along with the CFR and TC, has become a shadow government whose top priority is to erase the sovereignty of all nation-states and supplant them with global corporate control of their economies under the surveillance of "an electronic global police state."

The author emphasizes that not all members of the group are "bad" people, and he implies that membership is structured somewhat like concentric circles in a target scheme within inner core and various levels of relationship between that core and the outer circles of membership. Almost every famous player in politics and finance in the world is a member of one of the three organizations mentioned above, and their political affiliations range from liberal to conservative, for example, George W. Bush, George Soros, Gerald Ford, George McGovern, Jimmy Carter. Of this private club, Estulin says:

This parallel world remains unseen in the daily struggles of most of humanity, but, believe me, it is there: a cesspool of duplicity and lies and double-speak and innuendo and blackmail and bribery. It is a surreal world of double and triple agents, of changing loyalties, of professional psychotic assassins, brainwashed black ops agents, soldiers of fortune and mercenaries, whose primary sources of income are the dirtiest and most despicable government-run subversive missions-the kind that can never be exposed.

In the final months of 2007 we are witnessing the stupendous success of the Big Three's strategy for planetary economic hegemony as the cacophony of their carefully engineered global economic cataclysm reverberates across America and around the world. It was never about buyers who didn't read the fine print when taking out liar loans. It was always about silver-tongued, ruling elite politicians and central bankers, anointed by the shadow government, who ultimately and skillfully stole and continue to steal governments from people and replace them with transnational corporations.

No one could have said it better than David Rockefeller, founder of the Trilateral Commission, a Bilderberg member and board member of the Council On Foreign Relations in his Memoirs:

Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists' and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure-one world, if you will. If that's the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.

If you want to know who really runs the world and the lengths to which they will go to establish their globalist hegemony, you must read Estulin's well-documented "The True Story of The Bilderberg Group."

Stealth Attack

June 2010 – STEALTH ATTACK: How the Left took control of America piece by piece – schools, media, churches, and now government

The realization is shocking to millions of Americans. They struggle to understand it. It just seems impossible this could happen in the freest nation on earth.

It's particularly tough on veterans, who fought, bled and sometimes died in far-off lands to halt the spread of a malignant ideology called "Marxism," "Communism" or "Socialism." They remember fighting in Korea and Vietnam, and then the Cold War, and they remember President Reagan presiding over the demise of the "Evil Empire" and the dismantling of the Berlin Wall, met by jubilation throughout the free world. Marxism had failed!

Yet today, as if awakening from a long dream, Americans are splashing cold water on their faces, rubbing their eyes, and taking a very hard look at their troubled nation – and what they see appalls them: Their government has somehow fallen into the hands of people in thrall to the very same destructive ideology they fought overseas.

And the trauma of Obama's ongoing "fundamental transformation" of America is rousing millions to an even more alarming reality: Virtually all of our nation's major institutions – from the public education system to our colleges and universities, from the news media to the entertainment industry, from the unions to our major philanthropic foundations, even many of our churches – have somehow been captivated by this same leftist ideology.

The incredible but true story of how all this happened is laid out as perhaps never before in the June issue of Whistleblower, titled "STEALTH ATTACK: How the Left took control of America piece by piece – schools, media, churches, and now government.

As "STEALTH ATTACK" documents with stunning clarity, while Americans were understandably preoccupied with Soviet expansionism, the Cuban missile crisis, and deterring the threat of nuclear-tipped ICBMs being launched at our cities, there was a "second front" in this same war being waged against us by the left – stealthily, seductively, and largely out of view. In the age of Obama, the success of this second offensive has become undeniable.

Highlights of "STEALTH ATTACK" include:

"The left's 2-front war on America" by David Kupelian, on how the greatest nation on earth has, for decades, been stealthily transformed by radicals

"Voices from the past" – a trip back in time to experience what America's founders said about safeguarding our liberties

"No salvation in politics" by Joseph Farah, who explains the real center of gravity in the war for America's soul lies not in her politics, but in her culture

"Who stole our culture?" by William S. Lind, the astonishing story of how cultural Marxists have transformed America

"Why the left talks about 'white' tea parties" by Dennis Prager, on what happens when people see life through the prism of race, gender and class – but not right and wrong

"Sick thinking from disgraceful leftists" by David Limbaugh, on what's really behind accusations of conservative "hate speech"

"The left's ludicrous accusations against tea partiers" by James Simpson, documenting its wall-to-wall violence and vandalism against the GOP

"Cultural Marxism in education: The gathering revolt" by Chuck Rogér

"Sabotaging our schools" by David Kupelian, on how radicals hijacked America's education system

"The Manchurian President" by Aaron Klein, a sneak peek inside the new blockbuster exposé of Barack Obama

"Coalition of extremists pushing Obama agenda" by Aaron Klein and Brenda J. Elliott, documenting the stunning consortium of socialists, communists and Marxists supporting the president

"'SNL' star: 'There's a communist living in the White House' – Victoria Jackson unloads on Obama with a biting comic video

"It's a civil war: What we do now" by Dennis Prager
"Here's the hard truth," said Whistleblower Editor David Kupelian. "The same 'ism' we fought to contain overseas – whether you call it Marxism, socialism, or progressivism – has been slowly infiltrating and subverting America for decades. The final piece of the puzzle – the federal government – fell into their hands like a ripe piece of fruit in November 2008.

"This issue of Whistleblower ends the charade, tells exactly how the anti-American left pulled this off right under our noses, and what we must now do to take our country back from them. The American giant is finally awakening, and it's time to act."
