There was only this small mention in the Chicago Sun Times about Sarah Palin's visit to the 'Windy City', the Peoples Democratic Republic of Chicago. This is the Progressives Mecca which spawned Obama and the people here are starting to see what has been going on with the Liberals destruction of our way of life and our country. The MSM has remained very quiet about this story, at least the Obama propaganda machine is still working.

Former Republican Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin brought 4,000 Chicago-area fans to their feet Wednesday night, attacking President Obama, corrupt Illinois politicians and a Highland Park school that told its girl’s basketball team it could not go to the play-offs in Arizona.
“Them are fighting words when you say a girl can’t play in the basketball tournament, so we’re going to see about that,” she said.
Noting that the girls at Highland Park High School had bake sales to pay their way to the national finals for the first time in 26 years, Palin suggested conservatives could get the girls to Arizona despite High School District 113’s decision to keep the girls home this winter because of Arizona’s strict new laws against illegal aliens.
Palin noted the school is still sponsoring a trip to China.
In an e-mail to Pioneer Press, school district assistant superintendent Sue Hebson said the decision is not a political statement, but rather for the safety of students.
“District 113 boasts a diverse student population and, as a school district, we believe in equal opportunity for each of our students,” she said. “We cannot commit at this time to playing at a venue where some of our students’ safety or liberty might be placed at risk because of state immigration law.”
“You know how they treat girls in China?” Palin said. “It makes no sense. Even if they have to do this on our own. ... If the kids have to ‘Go Rogue’ girls.”
Palin led off by saying, “I’m really glad to be here on the president’s home turf. ... The eyes of America are on this state, watching what will come out of the political process and the 2012 elections: If it can be done in Illinois, it can be done anywhere.”
She thanked Illinois for giving the world Ronald Reagan and the Tea Party movement.
“The 21st Century Tea Party movement, it starts right here in Chicago,” Palin said to cheers. “This is where it starts. So Illinois, your place in the history of this grass movement has been instrumental.”
Earlier, Palin impressed Illinois’ top Republicans willing to spend $500 to $25,000 at a fund-raiser for the state party.
“We talked about the situation in Illinois — the deficit, the high taxes, job creation,” said the party’s nominee for governor, State Sen. Bill Brady of Bloomington. “I told her, ‘Your being here is helping rally the troops and get the message out.’”
Brady and his lieutenant governor candidate, Jason Plummer, both made last-minute decisions to attend the party fund-raiser. But GOP Senate candidate Mark Kirk, who has tried to cultivate a more moderate image, said his congressional voting obligations would keep him in Washington, D.C. Wednesday night.
“She came in and was gracious enough to help us raise money,” said state Sen. Jim Durkin. “It was very low-key, no speeches. She just met with people and talked with them. She said we have the chance to win many seats. People were very eager to take out their check books.”
Durkin brought a picture he took with Palin, himself and Mike Ditka at a Latrobe, Pa., rally a week before the 2008 election, which Palin signed for him.
“She said this could be a good year for Republicans,” State GOP Chairman Patrick Brady said.
“It was a moving experience,” said former GOP candidate for governor Adam Andrzejewski. “She was very personable. She was encouraging us to keep up the fight for reform in Illinois.”
Some 4,000 Sarah Palin fans paid the more reasonable but still-steep $56 to spend “An Evening with Sarah Palin” later at the Rosemont Theater.

I hope that every American, regardless of where he lives, will stop and examine his conscience about this and other related incidents. This Nation was founded by men of many nations and backgrounds. It was founded on the principle that all men are created equal, and that the rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened. All of us ought to have the right to be treated as he would wish to be treated, as one would wish his children to be treated, but this is not the case.
ReplyDeleteI know the proponents of this law say that the majority approves of this law, but the majority is not always right. Would women or non-whites have the vote if we listen to the majority of the day, would the non-whites have equal rights (and equal access to churches, housing, restaurants, hotels, retail stores, schools, colleges and yes water fountains) if we listen to the majority of the day? We all know the answer, a resounding, NO!
Today we are committed to a worldwide struggle to promote and protect the rights of all who wish to be free. In a time of domestic crisis men of good will and generosity should be able to unite regardless of party or politics and do what is right, not what is just popular with the majority. Some men comprehend discrimination by never have experiencing it in their lives, but the majority will only understand after it happens to them.
Benito,
ReplyDeleteYou have a valid argument but you fail to see that it stands on a very weak foundation. This country is built on immigration. By people who truly believe in it’s founding document, the Constitution. We are a society based on laws. We have established laws on immigration that a certain group of immigrants have chosen to disregard. There are many people on this planet who want to participate in our dreams of freedom but are not as fortunate to have a border with us. This country welcomes thousands of legal immigrants every year. Those who follow the rules. You would be surprised how many of them come from Mexico.
The Arizona law is a mandate by that State for it’s Law Enforcement agencies to enforce current Federal laws which have for many reasons been ignored for the most part. This law isn’t being made to discriminate against Hispanics. Arizona is faced with many underlying criminal activities which the rest of this country does not have. It is being done to force the hand of the Obama Administration to comply with it’s promises at comprehensive reforms on the Federal Immigration policies, which it has failed to do. You can see that Obama isn’t very concerned about it because he has basically shelved any discussion about it till after the Nov 2010 elections.
I have been watching all the protests and reading all the arguments about how this is a social problem in this country, being given by people who should not be here in the first place. I hope that my lack of political correctness doesn’t offend and if it does - well then, leave. It is an example of the greatness that such discourse can be done in this country because of the freedoms that our Constitution has given us, it‘s legal citizens. I am also amazed at the lack of courage by these same people who do not and will not go to the source of these problems and protest there, i.e. Mexico.
The underlying problems with all these illegal immigrants is not what is occurring here in the United States but from where they are originating from. The failed Socialist policies that have been in place in Mexico can be seen in what is probably one of the richest nations on this planet having a two tiered society. It has basically a non-existent middle-class but the rich and the poor. I can only imagine what would happen if the United States didn’t exist and Mexico’s northern border were an ocean, war and revolution.
Mexico is a politically corrupt pressure cooker which is fortunate enough to have a pressure relief valve, the United States, to release it’s Socialist failings. I would once like to see someone from there, man up and really confront the real problem and not keep bashing the freedoms that we have here and try to blame Americans for all the world’s ills. Where does the world’s richest man come from? Where is Carlos Slim Helu from?
When you are ready to face the truth, then you can criticize the people of this country, who at least give you the freedom to say what you want. So please go ‘Hope and Change’ the Mexican government into giving it’s citizens those rights that you believe that they should have.
Adrian, I agree with you 100%. Enough blaming the United States. Start taking responsibility and follow the law of the land or we will end up just like Mexico! Rich vs Poor..then what?
ReplyDeletePlease Benito, I'm a women and latina and disagree with you 100%. Have a nice day! Doris
