There were many in this country that were shocked by the election of President Barack Hussein Obama, not by who he is but by his beliefs. He has attempted to blitzkrieg his Marxist agenda from the first day that he took control of the office. It could have been a fore bearing of what his Presidency would be like, when he couldn't do the Oath of Office ceremony correctly - twice. The United States is a Center-Right country according to recent polls. It has always been, contrary to what the Democrats say through their propaganda director, Anita Dunn and the MSM. The United States is not ready for the wealth distribution that the Democrats have brought. Unfortunately, the divided Republicans have not been able to bring a strong enough opposition to them.
Americans have become so disenchanted by what the Republicans have become. The GOP continues with a policy that they regard being a 'big tent' party. They want to be liked by everyone. They claim that they can appeal to the undecided independents. This then makes the GOP trying to become more like the Democratic Party, the Democrat Lite. This is not the option that many Americans want. The failure in the Republicans vision, of all inclusiveness, is that the Democrats have taken a contrary approach. The Democrats took their party to the far left as their party's ideology. They have been following their puppet master, George Soros and his money. They won.
By avoiding Conservatism, a mistake that continues to pervade the Republican Party. They are attempting to follow what the Democrats do of segregating their members into different social groups and then catering to their demands. The GOP have taken this same approach by embracing the Moderates(Liberals), the Lincoln Loggers(Gays) and the Country Club Blue Bloods(East Coast Elites) and trying to cater to their needs. This is becoming a problem as these groups are following agendas that are more traditional Democratic issues, IE. abortion, gay marriage, welfare. The Democrats have actually taken this lapse in the Republicans judgement to get their members elected in traditional conservative areas, the Blue Dogs.
The problem that the GOP has had lately, is that they seem to misunderstand what Conservatism means. They believe incorrectly that Conservatives are a far-right portion of the party and not their mainstream. They fail to realise that what they are turning away from is what the 'founding fathers' originally intended for the country.
Conservatives believe in all the tenets of the Constitution. We believe that these fundamental Rights have been given to us by God. We believe that what was written is what is meant. It even has an internal system to adjust for changes by the use of ammendments. The Constitution split the power of the Government into three branches in order to avoid total control. This is what alot of Americans are looking for again.
The Republicans have joined the Democrats in wanting to have a big government that controls every aspect of the citizens lives. This is contrary to the intent of the founding of this country, which had been established to avoid this. There are many in this country who believe in the European model of government which seeks to control all aspects of an individuals life. They want to control how you live, from the cradle to the grave. This type of soft tyranny is still a tyranny. It is what it is.
There is also a belief in some members of the GOP that President Ronald Reagan was an anomaly. That his vision that he brought to this country was an isolated event, not to be copied again. They fail to see that the message that he brought this country not new, but the original one. It is why he was able to bring so many people, Democrats included, to help him get the country out of a financial depression. He helped Americans once again feel great about themselves. He reminded us of who we were as a people and the gift that was given to us to showcase for the rest of the world, our American Exceptionalism. We are not just a collection of different types of people that have different agendas, but a people who believe that through our Constitution we are all equal. This is what makes us great.
The GOP now continues to flounder in what direction it should take. It is evident that what many Americans are looking for is for those individuals who choose to take a Conservative approach. The last Presidential election was lost by the Republicans message, not won by the Democratic one. The people were not impressed with the lack of conviction that Senator John McCain brought as a Moderate Republican. His Presidential race only gained life with the addition of a staunch Conservative, Governor Sarah Palin. They feared her and her message of Conservatism. This was evident when the MSM, now a propaganda tool of the Left, tried to destroy her with so much, never before seen, negative press. They once again went into their Leftwing playbook and began to tell people that she was dumb or stupid, just like they did with Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush.
Today, the same is true, in which direction that the GOP needs to take in order to be a viable alternative to the Far-Leftwing message that the Democratic Party is offering of Socialism. There will be a few elections this week which will be a good indicator of what Americans truly want for the future of this country and what 2010 holds. Are Americans choosing to forsake the Constitution, which the Democrats find too restrictive, in their attempt to take this country on the road to Socialism? Or will they rebuke what the Obama White House has been forcing through at such unprecedented speed?
There are two governor elections that are going to be held on Tuesday. The ones in New Jersey and Virginia, are sure to indicate the mood of the country. There is also a congressional race in New York that is also has brought a big shock to the Republican Party. The GOP's candidate was a moderate who believes in abortion, Card check and gay marriage. Their party's nominee Dede Scozzafava has withdrawn her hat from the race in order to let Doug Hoffman of the Conservative Party have a better chance of winning. The polls showed that Republicans are tired of the direction which the GOP has been taking and had begun to support a new party, The Conservative Party of New York State. The Republicans have made the right decision in backing a Conservative, in order to prevent a Democratic win for this seat.

The GOP is rudderless and their Chairman Micheal Steele is still trying to continue to try to steer it in it's current failed direction. Republicans who are going to be successful are the ones running as Conservatives and follow these principles. The Republican Party needs to have people who are willing to work within established Conservative principles or become prepared to have those same principles used against them by the Democratic Party's Blue Dogs or some new parties. Conservative Republicans will do well in future elections if they follow their base. If the GOP isn't ready to then it had better be prepared to go the way of the Whig Party.

Today Dede Scozzafava endorsed her former Democratic opponent against Conservative Doug Hoffman. This again emphasizes my article that there is a big problem with the GOP. It has been inundated with Liberals that are trying to make it a Republican Lite party that mirrors the Democrats.
ReplyDeleteI hear from alot of people that there is no difference between the parties and it's incidents like this that indicate that to be true. There is though, but we have to either have these people leave or the party leaves Conservatives. It's bad enough that the Socialists have taken over the Democratic Party but now they're trying to take the GOP also.

I wrote this on FoxNews about this topic.
ReplyDeleteIs anyone questioning why the local Republican party appointed her the candidate to represent the GOP in the first place? I find it difficult to believe that she held all these Liberal values and yet she still was able to get the support of the RNC. They gave her more then a million dollar in support of her campaign.
Mr. Michael Steele needs to see if we want an open tent party that lets in Liberals that actually side with Obama. The Socialist were able to take control of the Democrats that way.
It’s like President Reagan once commented about the Democratic Party, “I didn’t leave the party, it left me”. I wonder if that will apply to us?
