“Shots Fired by Police”
Dear Fellow 016th District Residents,
On 27 July 2009, there was a police involved shooting incident in the 016th District in the area of Devon & Milwaukee. A brief summary of the incident is as follows.
At about 1030 hours, police were assigned to a 911 call of a “Domestic – Man with a Gun.” The first unit to arrive observed a man holding a gun and struggling with a woman on the street. The officer exited his vehicle and ordered the offender to drop the gun. The offender refused. As he attempted to enter his home, the offender raised his gun and pointed it at the officer. In self-defense, the officer fired a single shot. The offender was not hit and entered his home. The officer pursued him into the residence and subsequently made the arrest. The offender was transported to the hospital for minor injuries he sustained during the incident. No police officers were injured. The actions of the officer were confirmed on his vehicle’s in-car camera system.
We should all be proud of the officer’s heroic response and take comfort in knowing that the men and women working in this District are prepared to take the steps necessary to ensure the safety of our families.

When lawmakers return home for recess in August, they can expect to hear tough questions from constituents on the economy, health care and government spending.
But Republicans are preparing for something else: the birthers.
As GOP Rep. Mike Castle learned the hard way back home in Delaware this month, there’s no easy way to deal with the small but vocal crowd of right-wing activists who refuse to believe that President Barack Obama was born in the United States.
At a town hall meeting in Georgetown, a woman demanded to know why Castle and his colleagues were “ignoring” questions about Obama’s birth certificate — questions that have been put to rest repeatedly by state officials in Hawaii, where the birth certificate and all other credible evidence show that Obama was born in Honolulu on Aug. 4, 1961.
When Castle countered that Obama is, in fact, “a citizen of the United States,” the crowd erupted in boos, the woman seized control of the gathering and led a recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. The video went viral; by Sunday, it had been viewed on YouTube more than half a million times.
And birthers say members should expect more of the same in the coming weeks.
“Absolutely,” says California resident Orly Taitz, the Russian-born attorney/dentist who has become a kind of ringleader for the movement. “It is a very important issue, one that politicians should have taken up a long time ago.”
Moments after speaking with POLITICO Saturday, Taitz posted a call to arms on her blog:
“I believe it is a serious concern and I hope that each and every decent American comes to town hall meetings with a video camera and demands action,” she wrote.
Having seen his colleague Castle come under attack, Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-Mich.) is taking no chances.
“Before I got back to Michigan before the break, we’ll go through it, so that we’re versed in it,” Hoekstra said recently. “Just like anything else, if you see a hot issue ... it’s sort of like, ‘Let me go take a look at this and see what the status is.’”
Hoekstra believes there’s no “compelling case” questioning Obama’s origins. But after talking to Castle about his town hall, he knows that he’d better be ready with an answer.
The trick: What do you say?
Of the various approaches a put-on-the-spot pol can take, each carries its own risk of alienating constituents. Pick up a pitchfork in the cause of this conspiracy theory, and you risk damaging your reputation in the mainstream while aligning yourself with a movement some regard as having racist undertones.
Rep. John Campbell (R-Calif.), co-sponsor of legislation that would force candidates to show their birth certificates, was widely mocked after he told MSNBC’s Chris Matthews that Obama is a U.S. citizen — “as far as I know.”
However, members who decide to challenge the conspiracy theory, as Castle did mildly, risk ticking off a shrill minority who can upend their events and then post the video on the Web.
And those who try to split the difference may find themselves getting doubly burned.
At a Wyoming town hall in April, birthers jumped on freshman Republican Rep. Cynthia Lummis.
“I’m not questioning your concern,” Lummis told the crowd, according to the Wyoming Eagle Tribune. “I am questioning whether there is credible evidence.”
The congresswoman ended up asking for anyone who had “evidence” to send it to her.
At a walk-in meeting in Sen. Tom Coburn’s Washington office, birthers gave the Oklahoma Republican’s chief of staff nine pages of documentation in support of their claims. The group later billed the meeting a success on one of Taitz’s blogs.
But when asked about the meeting, Coburn spokesman Don Tatro said that the office was simply trying to be “polite” and that “it is possible to mistake politeness for agreement.”
According to his office, Colorado Republican Rep. Doug Lamborn has received 33 inquiries about Obama’s origins, with 10 coming in over the past week.
So far, Hoekstra hasn’t faced any such questions.
“When you’re in a state with 15.2 percent unemployment,” he said, “most people have other things on their mind than this.”
But as if to illustrate the touchiness of the subject, Hoekstra quickly added: “Not that this isn’t important.”
Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) has also tried to find the elusive middle ground.
"They have a point," he said of the birthers last week. "I don't discourage it. ... But I'm going to pursue defeating [Obama] on things that I think are very destructive to America."
Inhofe put out a statement Monday clarifying his comment:
"The point that they make is the Constitutional mandate that the U.S. president be a natural born citizen, and the White House has not done a very good job of dispelling the concerns of these citizens," he said. "My focus is on issues where I can make a difference to stop the liberal agenda being pushed by President Obama."
Out-party politicians have long had to deal with conspiracy theorists on their side — the people who think that the Clintons killed Vince Foster or that the Bush administration helped orchestrate the Sept. 11 attacks.
“Twenty-five percent of my people believe the Pentagon and Rumsfeld were responsible for taking the twin towers down,” said Rep. Collin Peterson, a Democrat who represents a conservative Republican district in Minnesota. “That’s why I don’t do town meetings.”
But the birther phenomenon may present a bigger challenge — a potent blend of race and politics, fueled by conservative TV and radio pundits, and played out in a day when all that stands between a town hall meeting and Web omnipresence is a $100 flip cam.
Republican pollster Whit Ayers says that a member confronted with birther questions should immediately pivot the conversation back to big issues.
“You simply indicate that in a country where our fiscal policy is driving us toward bankruptcy, where we are wrestling with major issues of health care reform and fighting two wars for our safety, you don’t have time to deal with wild conspiracy theories,” he says.
That’s the approach House Republican Conference Chairman Mike Pence of Indiana takes.
“On that issue, I’m pretty distinctive that the president is from Hawaii,” he said. “I just don’t know where he’s coming from on health care.”
Such a response might satisfy many, or even most, but Taitz says that until Obama is removed from office, America’s other problems cannot be addressed. The fact that a few members of Congress have taken up her cause, with 10 Republicans signing onto Floria Republican Rep. Bill Posey’s legislation to amend the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971, has only encouraged her to buckle down in the fight.
As Taitz sees it, Campbell, who represents her congressional district in Southern California, was moved to co-sponsor the “Birthers’ bill” for fear of people like her.
Campbell spokesperson Muffy Lewis flatly denied that being the case, saying the issue of Obama’s birth certificate is a low priority in the congressman’s district. Plus, Campbell has stressed that the bill would apply only to future candidates — and is really just about avoiding these kinds of controversies in the future.
“It really wasn’t as much about constituents as it was his own principles,” said Lewis. “He thought it was a common-sense bill. Castle had a major issue [in his district], but it hasn’t been much of an issue in ours.”
But Taitz said that lawmakers everywhere should be prepared to “resign or be removed” if they “do not have the guts to stand for the Constitution and this country.”
Asked whether Republican lawmakers should be “afraid” of the birthers, Taitz said: “I wouldn’t say the word ‘afraid.’ I think they should be willing to resign or be removed. That is what they should do. ... Resign if you do not have the guts to stand for the Constitution of this country.”
Taitz has made nine trips around the country to rally support for her cause. In March, she traveled to Washington to personally hand out packets of documents to senators in the Hart Senate Office Building. Additionally, she says she has sent documents by certified mail to each of the members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, arguing that Obama is “totally illegitimate to be president.”
While the movement could be “politically threatening for particular Republicans,” Taitz says that the GOP as a whole has a chance to gain from it if it takes the right course of action.

John Conyers isn't trying to impeach President Bush anymore but he does find time to try to get Karl Rove and any other conservative that he can jammed up. Here he addresses the National Press Club about lawmakers reading the health care bill.
Perhaps sir, because it's your job. We send you, as our representative to the government to make the laws that we feel are necessary. Perhaps when you're not too busy ruining Michigan, you can find the time to actually do what you were hired to do. What is the purpose of you being there? Obama has taken away so much of your Constitutional power by appointing all these czars. The left wing politicians are in such a hurry to ram these laws down the American throats that they don't even know themselves what is in them. I suggest that since there is no dire emergency that perhaps you can take more time to read these bills, a week, a month, hell, take a year. You just have to look at what a mess that stimulus bill thing of yours was and what was that cap & trade thing?

Sarah's Farewell Speech
Sarah Palin stepped down as Governor of the State of Alaska this weekend. She plans to write a book and will perhaps pursue a further political career in the future. She is very popular among many conservatives and has a very large following. She is known as Sen John McCain's running mate and is credited to have brought them much support from the conservatives that he couldn't gain prior. It is so blatantly obvious that the left wing media is very fearful of her. Their political masters in the Democrat Party really have such a hatred from the fear that she causes them. The left wing media has been attacking her and her family non-stop since she was nominated for Vice President. This is a nice message that she gave to the left-wing media. They fear what will happen after the destruction of this country left behind by Obama, when 2012 arrives.

Most Memorable Wedding Entrance
This was definitely one of the most unusual wedding entrances that I have ever seen. I had it sent in an email and was totally entertained by it. I think that it was very novel and these people were so enthusiastic as they entered. I want to wish Kevin and Jill Kheinz a wonderful life together. God bless you two.
American Muscle Cars
I'm not going to delve into politics with this post. I am just wondering if anybody else feels like they've stepped into a time-warp. Are we getting a blast from the past with these new American Muscle Cars, Chevy Camaro, Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger? I have been in love with American Muscle cars since I was a little kid. I have owned one or another muscle car through out my life and I can't wait till the opportunity avails itself for me to be able to purchase another pony car. These three models have always been the American blue collar hot rod. I know that there are other American Muscle Cars but these three are the pony cars that have always captivated me.
Oh, by the way, I have always loved my pony cars in Red.

Stupid Cops
I had a feeling that I was right about what I have been saying about Obama. I have never heard a President of the United States make such a disparaging remark about members of a Law Enforcement Department. He did not sound very presidential, much more like those leftist community agitators that want to increase the friction between the races.
Obama says that the Police's actions were stupid and goes into the usual Liberal tirade of how the Police are racist institutions.
After this remark and the outrage in the country, the White House Propaganda Secretary Robert Gibbs begins the leftward spin:
Luckily, the ABC News apologists are also on hand to once again defend the President. You will recall their defense of Obama's bowing to the Saudi king and the Brazilian booty incident.

After years and years of police bashing by the Liberal media, community agitators, and phony reverends who have probably never even read the Bible, I find it terribly disturbing that the President would take such a position and say what he said after admitting that he did not know all the facts. I truly find it very difficult to believe that the Cambridge Police Department in the middle of that Liberal Wonderland being a racist organization. I find it hard to believe that Sgt Crowley is a racist when he is that departments instructor on 'Racial Profiling'.
I don't think that Obama is too pleased with the current individual communities police establishments in this country and that perhaps he would be happier with a 'national police force' ?

Early Retirement
An agreement between the city and the Fraternal Order of Police will allow Police Officers to retire at 55 years of age and retain their medical benefits for themselves and their families. This is a good deal for both sides on this issue. The article doesn't address any other issues being discussed.

Honduras cont.
This is my second post on what is occurring in Honduras. The United States has been so involved in pummeling the terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan, that it didn't keep it's eye on the ball in our own backyard. Little by little, Latin American countries have been falling back into the influence of the Left. Manny Noriega, the leader of the Sandinistas, is once again in charge of Nicaragua. Almost all other have had Socialists take the reigns of their countries. Hugo Chavez, using the power of the mob and masses, has bullied his way into control of Venezuela and it's oil fields. He is in the process of nationalizing everything in that country. He has changed the laws in his country and become a dictator.
Honduras was beginning to have it's own dictator in the making, with Manny Zelaya. He was illegally trying to extend the limit of his current office, as president, beyond what was mandated in their constitution. Their constitution, like ours, have already legal established methods to make changes. He also wanted to make these changes by using the rule of the mob. He was finally arrested by the military and shipped to Costa Rica.
I regret that our Liberal media has been out pushing their false propaganda that a military coup had taken place. I'm not so sure that is actually correct since when an actual military coup occurs, usually, one of their own becomes the leader. This did not happen, Zelaya's second in command, became the interim President and agreed with what the military had done. Honduras' Supreme Court also agreed with their actions. They are still planning on holding legal elections this November.
Manny Zelaya has been gaining support from most of the Leftists countries and wants to return to continue to further the damage that he has already done to Honduras. Both sides are yet to come to any agreeable solution to their differences.

I offer to you, dear reader, that our leader, President Obama, as a Marxist himself and his administration have decided not to support the legal actions of the people of Honduras, but that of the junior dictator in Manny Zelaya. I have heard many times that Obama is not a Socialist but a community organizer who will wants to do for the country what he helped do to Chicago. Beware!!! I live in Chicago and I can tell you that paying the nation's highest taxes is not really the direction that we want to take this country. The people of Honduras do not want what is already happening to this country, they do not want to be Socialists.

History Of the Chicago Police Department
The Chicago Police Department
This is a good video history of the Chicago Police Department. This is being dedicated to the men and women who have served the city of Chicago since April 15th, 1855.

Are they ZOMBIES?
President Obama has done more damage to this country's political, economical and social systems then any other President has in the history of our nation. I agree that he was handed a bad economy but he has capitalized on it to bring about his socialist agenda with his now famous catch phrases of Hope and Change. These are actual propaganda examples from Saul Alinsky's 'Rules for Radicals'. Obamasure is a Chicago style huckster, when it comes to politics.
He has given the American people nothing but a chain of lies. Have you noticed, dear reader, how everyone of his Bills have had to been passed as an emergency? Then these new laws are not applicable or available till years later. Our elected officials in Congress aren't even reading these Bills, they are just Rubber Stamping them. The Stimulus Bill which in reality turned out to be a giant payoff to his supporters and cronies. Cap and Trade is being rushed through Congress and the media keeps the masses entertained with the circus of Michael Jackson's death.
Obama stated that the economy would be getting better when it has actually been deteriorating. He knows that it is so bad that he has postponed the July budget update to next month. Why? What doesn't he want us to see? How much debt can we have? The following article raises these questions and others. I have yet to see little outrage from the masses. Are they zombies?

The Blue Dogs are a conservative wing of the Democrat Party. There are still alot of Democrats that have not fallen in goosestep with the Socialists who have taken over the majority of their party. They also disagree with some of the things that President Obama is doing to our country. They are obviously Liberals but also agree with many of the ideals of conservatism. They don't agree with so much government control and are not in favor of government controlled health care. They are currently being courted by the Obama administration in order to win their vote. We need to contact these individuals and let them know that they should continue to hold out their support for Obamacare and find alternatives to fixing our current health care system. We need to shake off our apathy and let the government know that it's true being is to serve the People of the United States as the founders intended. We need to take back our country, begin with your voices.

UPDATE: July, 28, 2009 It seems that Obama's plans have hit an obstacle. It is not with the Republicans, because they are currently impotent. The problems are from within his own party, the Blue Dogs in particular. This group of Democrats are the results of the brainchild of Obama's White House chief, Rahm Emmanuel. He orchestrated the Blue Dog takeover of many Republican seats by having the Democrats run Right of the Republicans, successfully. The plan worked good, too good it seems, as this group knows that it will be difficult to win reelection if they are seen by their constituents of passing another Socialist agenda. It appears Obama's master plan of quickly passing a left wing health care reform has become mired.
Two cops that we remember...
I want to remember two fellow members of the Chicago Police Department that gave their lives on July 17, 1970. Sergeant James L. Severin #1319 and Patrolman Anthony N. Rizzato #12407, were killed by sniper fire by two gang members at the Cabrini-Green Housing Projects. They were particpating in a "Walk and Talk" program when they were ambushed as they crossed a baseball field. The purpose of their murder was to seal a pact between two rival gangs. The two shooters were sentenced from 100 to 199 years in prison. The killers have parole hearings every three years.

Marines - World Tour 2009 - Afghanistan
Strike of the Sword
This July, there are about four thousand Marines that have started the largest combat deployment since the Viet Nam War, in Helmand province, Afghanistan. They are striking at the Talibans major money making scheme, their Poppy fields. It is estimated to provide about 80% of the worlds opium and the money has been fueling their operations. The operation is called 'Strike of the Sword' and is designed to be a large fast moving direct combat initiative.

Shifty Powers, March 13, 1923- June 17, 2009
The Jumpmaster has added another paratrooper to his manifest. Darrell 'Shifty' Powers passed away on June 17, 2009, fighting. He lost his final battle to cancer. He joins his squad members from Easy Company, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Infantry Division (Airborne). He was part of the US airborne jump on D-Day on Normandy. He fought in every engagement that Easy Co. was involved.
In giving birth to not only a new Infantry Division, but one that would travel and conduct operations in an unfamiliar manner, Airborne. On August 19, 1942, Major General William C. Lee read the following orders.
General Order Number Five.
'The 101st Airborne Division, activated at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana, has no history, but it has a rendezvous with destiny. Like the early American pioneers whose invincible courage was the foundation stone of this nation, we have broken with the past and its traditions in order to establish our claim to the future.
Due to the nature of our armament, and the tactics in which we shall perfect ourselves, we shall be called upon to carry out operations of far-reaching military importance and we shall habitually go into action when the need is immediate and extreme.
Let me call your attention to the fact that our badge is the great American eagle. This is a fitting emblem for a division that will crush its enemies by falling upon them like a thunderbolt from the skies.
The history we shall make, the record of high achievement we hope to write in the annals of the American Army and the American people, depends wholly and completely on the men of this division. Each individual, each officer and each enlisted man, must therefore regard himself as a necessary part of a complex and powerful instrument for the overcoming of the enemies of the nation. Each, in his own job, must realize that he is not only a means, but an indispensable means for obtaining the goal of victory. It is, therefore, not too much to say that the future itself, in whose molding we expect to have our share, is in the hands of the soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division.'
Today, a thousand of these heroes from World War II pass away every day, they gave their all for the country that we love. God Bless the 'greatest generation' for our freedom.

Another way to establish control, is to keep the opposition silent. Congress has decided that there will be no discussion on any legislation. Teleprompter Conspiracy
By now many of you are aware of the calamity that has befallen Teleprompterone. He was born of a father who was a Swiss Army Knife, known for his resourcefulness. His mother was a Crystal Ball, who some believe came from the 'Court of Camelot', an arcane gift from Merlin to King Arthur. This weekend a tragedy appeared to have occurred when a possible life ending event happened. Many questions arose, the biggest being, 'did he commit suicide ?'

Afghan War Blog

The Afghan War Blog is written by a Chicago Tribune writer James Janega. He has been recounting their story as he is embedded with the 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team. He is bringing us their story, of our fellow citizens of Illinois who are fighting the War on Terror. It is a story that is well worth following. You can follow his Blog at this link:
I had the honor of being a member of the 33rd Infantry Brigade during the 1980's. I had been assigned as the Scout Platoon Leader for CSC, 1-131st Inf BN, having transferred in from the 12th Special Forces Group (Airborne). The Scouts were a collection of the best soldiers from the battalion. All my NCO's were Viet Nam veterans, many with multiple tours. They were great teachers in making me a good soldier and leader. We rode around in Jeeps mounted with M-60's Machineguns, that was alot of firepower for a small unit. We could drive fast and shoot guns, can it get any better? It reminded me alot of an old World War II tv show called the 'Desert Rats'. What I liked best was that all the members of our unit lived in the Chicagoland area. I made many wonderful friends there and would never have such an experience for the rest of my service. I will follow this Blog closely since these are our friends and neighbors.

The audacity of this lady that she really hopes that Obama actually represents American Catholics. I am saddened that many Americans have turned away from the teachings of the Catholic faith. According to the author, I am part of the 46% of Catholics, who proudly didn't vote for change. I try to follow the teachings of the Church, not always perfectly. I know that Pope Benedict XVI represents the ideals of the Church, a tradition lasting over two thousand years. I know that Obama will never represent me in anything, even more my belief in God. Apache attack w/ Infantry mop up
The War on Terror or whatever it is being called today, continues dear reader. You don't hear too much on the media anymore about the war, not the daily exhibitions we used to see, because of our new Commander in Chief, Obama I guess. I recall that he said he was going to end this. Well if this is how he plans on doing it, then I'm 100% behind him.
BAGRAM AIR FIELD, Afghanistan - Combined Joint Task Force-82 has released video of an air weapons team engaging and killing insurgents when responding to the insurgents' complex attack on a small patrol base in Paktia province May 27. The video shows 14 insurgents carrying automatic rifles, rocket propelled grenades and a mortar round fleeing the scene after they attacked the outpost with indirect fire, rocket propelled grenades and smalls arms fire.The pilot of an Apache AH64 helicopter is heard verbally checking to make sure the militants are far enough away from any qalats, or Afghan homes, so that shooting the militants will not endanger any civilians. The attack helicopter checks six times to ensure there will be no collateral damage before receiving permission to engage the insurgents. After the helicopter engages the insurgents from the air, U.S. troops continue fighting the insurgents on the ground. The entire fire fight lasted more than five hours. Afghan National Army and ISAF service members conducted an assessment of the area, finding at least 15 militant forces killed, numerous small arms and a mortar system. No ANA or International Security Assistance Forces were injured during the attack. The incident resulted in no civilian casualties.

Stimulus II
It seems that the stimulus bill has fallen way short of what President Obama envisioned. I'm not surprised, President Roosevelt, tried unsuccessfully to get the economy going again, by doing similar things. Fortunately, World War II stopped by and resolved that problem. The Democrats always try to fix problems by throwing money, our money, at the problem trying to resolve them. It also seems that President Obama and Vice President Biden aren't on the same sheet of music when it comes to the economy. Try to keep a close eye on what's left of your 401K and/or Differed Comp.

This book has been #1 on the New York Times Bestsellers List for over eleven weeks, yet not a peep has been mentioned in the media. I think that the 'Statists', Mark Levin's term for Liberals, fear not that it will define them, but that it will define us, as Conservatives. If you look at the documents that the 'Founding Fathers' left to us, you can read that they were starting us, as Americans, on a new course. We no longer would look to other men to tell us what to do because of some social elite class that believed that they were put on earth by God with noble blood. The 'Founding Fathers' showed us that we were all made equal by the direct gifts of God, to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. I highly recommend this book as it is a Conservative Manifesto.

The Truth in Honduras
Shame on the Liberal media outlets. They are only reporting the groups of leftists that are protesting. The military's ousting of their President who was illegally trying to retain his post for life...similar to other Leftist Dictators Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro. This is a video that you wont see on CNN or the major networks. It is in Spanish, but the point is to see how many people went to this rally. They didn't destroy or burn anything. They are the majority who are voicing their opinions.

I am starting a new blog, one among millions. I think that people are starting to get tired of what the current mass media establishment is doing. I always enjoy reading what the "liberal" media is trying to forcefeed us. I have to be selective of what is being said or printed. I have to try to get what is being spinned into a story and what the facts really are. I don't expect everyone to agree with me and this will be a civil site. I feel like the early Americans who were able to publish their one page newspapers and the ones that provided the actual facts usually survived. I will be bringing a point of view from the Right.
That is not to say that this is in anyway part of the Republican Party and is not supported by it. I am independent in this venture but some of their ideas might be included.
